Top job chick! Hey I saw something that I think is worth your having a look at. One of the narrowboat channels I watch has 'solar boxes' on her roof...which is solar panels forming the lid of a large box, which is used for storage. No idea whether that'd be workable/desirable for you, but mentioning it just in case. Channel is 'the narrowboat pirate'. Cheers from Celia.

I'm watching this build with keen interest. I'm trying to convince a mate to buy a coaster and build it out to be a camper like yours. (While he's a cabinet maker, I am looking toward 8020 aluminium extrusion to build the structures out of) I'm just wondering if you can spray the Thermoshield on, instead of brushing/rollering?

I'm not sure Pete. I have no experience with spray painting. I suggest you contact the folks at Thermoshield- they will be able to tell you

I know penetrol helps with rust prevention is that the reason why you chose to apply it first & did you ask the people at thermoshield you were going to apply it first & if so what did they say & is yr roof meal or fiberglass?....................They would also of told you that you only need a certain amount / coats to your size roof to which will be enough, so did you apply more coats than directed as that is what you were saying as you should only of needed most at 3 coats ?

Yes I used the Penetrol for rust protection. I have used it a lot in my bus. Yes, I spoke to the Thernoshield people and they confirmed that it was fine to use the Penetrol as a primer, but because it is oil based, I should wait two weeks for it to fully cure before painting on the water based Thernoshield, which is what I did. I think I talked about all of that in Part 1 video. I can't remember if they recommended a minimum number of coats. I told them what size bus I had and they supplied the paint. They do say that the more coats you apply the better Thermnoshield works. I am very happy with the way I did the roof. It's been 9 months now since I painted it. I've been up on the roof a fair bit since then building roof racks and having solar panels installed. And the bus has been through some very big storms. there is no sign whatsoever of the paint coming off and it still looks really good.
