I’ve been wanting to do this! What grit sandpaper did you use?

As usual great video!

I need to do that, but change from black to yellow. You could have saved on paint and swapped lol 😂

I just found out grimmspeed makes a pack of red or black plastic caps. I just installed them in about 2 mins. Looks Hella good tho dude! Edit: I mean your paint job looks Hella good! I'll be the first to admit me and paint don't mix the best and I wouldn't of gotten anywhere near your results

They just released those last week I believe. I'm glad someone finally has a cheaper solution
@SpecializedP2Ler2 жыл бұрын
@@StreetInspired1 well shit that explains why I've never seen them before! I mean there cheap caps but I love em in my engine bay with all the other red grimmspeed parts

Hey man, awesome video, looks loads better than that standard yellow, quick question though. Are you just using standard paint. Don’t have a paint gun so I’d be cleaning/degreasing etc and spraying them. Always unnerving when you spray anything in the engine bay if you know what I mean! Thanks bud!!
@StreetInspired12 жыл бұрын
I was using PPG automotive paint and 2k clearcoat. Spray paint may not hold up as well inside the engine bay but the way a saw it was even if the paint fails I could always get one of the engine cap kits so it wouldn't hurt to try!

@@StreetInspired1 awesome, cheers buddy appreciate the reply. Being as it’s just going to be spray paint just to clarify as I realise I didn’t say in the original comment, it’ll be VHT paint. High temp stuff. Would rather not run the risk of something classed as ‘standard’. Cheers dude!

Think that texture looks good when it was wet, can you do like a flat black or red and try to match the STi intake manifold?
@StreetInspired13 жыл бұрын
I'm sure I could get pretty close to that but not sure if I could match it 100%
@Goodnuggz3 жыл бұрын
@@StreetInspired1 I haven't decided yet on what accent color I want under my hood. But I know that some of these caps costing $250 are pretty ridiculous. I'm really leaning towards the highlighter yellow as I have the same Graphite Grey as you and I need something to pull the brake color together with the car. Kinda wish they just went with red, but they do stand out and look good. Just gotta commit to a color and run with it I guess. You'd think they'd atleast paint the manifold to match...
@StreetInspired13 жыл бұрын
@@Goodnuggz that was one gripe I had about the new stis. I like the new green/yellow they incorporated on the brakes but they should've done the Manifold to match instead of red.

How much horse power and torque do you gain with this mod?
@StreetInspired1 Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, painting plastic caps doesn't add any additional horsepower or torque, and is only a cosmetic modification.
