Great figure painters seem to have a very clear vision of what the final outcome will look like before they even start. It's a remarkable ability, and its fantastic to see them make that vision come to life. This is wonderful to watch at all levels, the brushstrokes, the color harmonies and the precision. And painting the eyes last shows complete confidence in his ability - that would scare me - I'd be terrified of ruining all the work on the face - but he just goes right to it and it looks amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, but it's not always the case! Most of us have a general idea and a certain amount of experience to know that if you painted it once, you can do it again. So even if you "ruin" the work you did, you can always restore it. So in time you'll be less afraid to try things and see if the work or not. And sometimes they don't, and you just correct!

Rifargli la punta sicuramente si, è pratica molto comune anche se non proprio sanissima.

I always wonder how the work on the shadowed area on the backside is done. We always see the focal point, but what about the processes for some of the less seen areas?

Most of the time is the same with just darker colors, that’s why it’s seldom shown. In on end of the masterclasses of these busts is shown though (Luna by Riccardo Agostini)

@@kimeramodels I appreciate the reply, I had gotten the masterclass for Domina, and didn't remember seeing that, but the person I am painting it for, will probably want to set it in a place where she can see it from different angles. Once I land the next job, I'll probably get this masterclass, as I want to learn more about painting alluring and sexy skin tones for pin up models and busts.
