In this tutorial, we're going to learn how to sail a ship. Or... No, we're going to learn how to paint water. Yes! Water. Lakes, rivers, waterfalls, ocean, and so on. These techniques are mostly used for environment paintings.

I like how you just smash your pen (yes we hear it a lot, ASMR painting, love it) with some color and you have this perfect perspective and you choose the right color. It's hard yet it seems easy. I would really like to learn how to draw in perspective like that, when I draw something it's flat and all x)

This tutorial came at the perfect time for me actually, I've just been tasked with painting a coastal tavern. Thanks for doing this, i've struggled with water for a long time. The amount of reflectivity due to the viewing angle is called the fresnel effect. Ther's lots of technical tutorials on what it is and how it works if you want to gain a deeper understanding.

I also use corel painter! 2014 or 15, I think. I've also just found this searching for water tutorial; it's so beautiful. It makes me very happy. If I could paint water like this... dream come true. :D I pretty much use pen brushes and digital watercolor and my water either looks like nothing at all or weird oily water-hair. XD So maybe I should try with these kinds of brushes instead.

Hi Walid. I really like your tutorials and the Evenant site. They are very good and easy to understand. I have learn a lot from them. Also, as a seggestion, I think it will be great if you make videos about yourself traveling on your boat to those islands you mentioned. I dont know maybe traveling in order to find cool textures or landscape references for painting. It will be an interesting and cool video.

1:05:50 Its a very good painting, however you did miss that its clipped on the right side of the lake. the ground is just a flat line into the water. it happened when you were blurring out the reflection in t he water and it expanded to the ground.
