Wow as big fan of Cezanne, this was my third or fourth time watching your excellent demostration (I'm only 1/3 of the way in this time) and I have to say, it really struck me about the echo shapes and the slants/angles etc this go round more than ever in my artistic journey...... Van gogh also implemented these as well, correct? Some of his landscapes seemingly flow off the canvas or sway in the light breeze and capture motion..... Thank you David. Love everything you do for the art world!

I am truly amazed by your exceptional video project and the incredibly high-quality production. When it comes to the external aspects, it's evident that you have excelled. However, regarding the internal aspects... I would personally prefer to hear Paul Cezanne himself discussing his intentions. When we observe Cezanne's paintings, we can sense his insecurity and the presence of hesitation. In contrast, your lines are precise and possess a strong dynamic that contrasts with what one experiences when viewing Cezanne's drawings or paintings. Having seen a significant amount of his work in Paris, Vienna, and briefly in Zurich, I believe that Paul attempted to capture what I was seeking, but unfortunately, without much success. His numerous attempts at painting the "Montagne Sainte Victoire" indicate that it was a source of great frustration for him. And anyway, thank you for your remarkable work.

When you say paints along the edges @ 8:14 do you mean in his watercolors his watercolors overlap them. I am reading on Cezanne and watching his still life, although they are poor pictures and pretty small so I cannot tell what I am seeing . eg Still life with Carafe, bottle and Fruit, Three Pears, Still Life Flowers and Fruit, Still Life Apples on a Sideboard. Do you mean that the pencils are really just guidelines and he works afterwards with the watercolors figuring out the forms

I'm suddenly starting to understand why certain (post)modern painters were deconstructing painting to its fundamentals. And why we don't do this anymore today as well. Interesting.
