I watched a bit of this after uploading, and there's a weird hissing noise i couldn't hear when editing. Probably because my laptop fans are so loud. I'll try and fix that for next time, sorry about that ❤

the composition and overall results are breathtaking, the variegated linework at the end just brought it all together so satisfyingly 💓 thank you so much for sharing!

This is so impressive! Its definitely giving zoological art vibes but also like... old Japanese wall scroll art? Ohara Koson comes to mind with his bird illustrations. The composition and negative space is so well rendered and delicate looking. I'm jealous of your steady hand for watercolor! My neck and shoulder wouldn't allow for linework like that anymore. Definitely take breaks!!

Thank you for such a lovely comment! Don't worry, I'll take lots of breaks

I love waxwings! Have you ever seen bohemian or japanese waxwings? they would also make great subjects for future pieces. I think your use of watercolors really accurately portrayed their soft plumage.

I've seen them online, i definitely want to paint some, but this time i wanted to paint the ones local to me ^w^

That is amazing! You should be proud! You could sell posters of that. I have enough background noices at my own house, including laptop fans and an extra cooler, I noticed nothing

Hi, I really enjoyed , and also paint birds. Never a cedar waxwings however. Their coloring as well as feather appearance (waxy) makes them especially challenging. Have you tried hot press paper when adding the colored pencil? They play well together. I just subscribed so it may be in another vid. Thanks, ClaudiaSJI

It definitely makes the pencils easier, but i find i generally like how paint looks on cold press better. But most of my cold press papers are not overly rough so its not too bad

@@madden.r.grimes oh this is interesting, which watercolor paper do you like using? My favorite is Arches, but hot press paper is just harder to use because of its slick surface. But I’m always interested in the paper other watercolor artists enjoy using. Thank you, ClaudiaSJI

@@garyweybright3227 I'm currently using arches cold press, i was a little disappointed in the arches hot press, it feels much thinner than the coldpress, even though they're labeled as the same weight. I like the Stonehenge hotpress watercolor blocks better, as they don't buckle. Sometimes i like a super duper rough paper and khadi is great for that.

A little humility goes a long way. . . Also, please tie your hair back when filming yourself painting.

Humility is over-rated, i want all artists to be unabashedly happy when they make art they genuinely love
