Painting with a Limited Palette creates UNLIMITED Colors. I share MIXING and PAINTING

In this video I share creating two small paintings using a “Limited Palette” of Burnt Sienna and Ultramarine Blue (two warm tones) to mix incredible harmonious colors.
I share my thoughts on how to keep moving forward past that middle stage and to never stop learning. Learning is growth from paintings a lot of artwork. I feel artists are not always born with this incredible talent (some are) but so much of it is what you learn and even more than that, what you PRACTICE. AND a lot of it.

Ooooh U must have read my mind! I had just decided to paint in a limited palette to get used to values and also to get better at mixing colours. And don't limited palettes always look so striking with their simplicity?! It's a wonder we don't talk about them more! Anyway, when I got notified you have done a video on it, I had to.come and see straight away! Fantastic! Thank U Cheryl, just watching now, very excited. Another fantastic video Cheryl, loved watching this as it reminds me of myself you start and all the different stages you go through, I have plenty of ugly stages, but keep going until hopefully something beautiful happens!!! I need to try and use a limited pallet and mix my colours more often too, looking forward to the next one !! ❤

As i have recently really found some incredible color I love and want to use over and over again I got some small cards with holes to write down my color combos. Like I love the naples yellow with other colors and it took me a bit to remember my mix.... SO if you find a color you love, write down as close as you can the combination!! Just thinking outloud to you!!!!

Yes I will start doing this, loved seeing your cat Deva too, I sadly had to say goodbye to my cat Tinkerbell recently bless her, it' was so upsetting, she is at peace in my garden 😭

What a wonderful video Thanks for inspiring me. What size paper do you use for playing. I am overwhelmed by the large canvases in my garage. I like the idea of using small pieces.

In these I used Canson watercolor paper. I so all sizes, but try to stay larger like these are 11" x 15". I feel I add so much paint, the end result can be framed under glass OR even as a floating piece in a glass less frame. I also like those canvas panels that you can put on a shelf alone or frame.
