Always so wonderful to see your works and the stages of growth. Loved the sketching and sketchbook too, foxglove, birds, (bird with apron 💖) prickly pear. So much fun to see. I've been fascinated with crows and birds lately. The beach scenes are great too! Thanks, have a great week.

I'm re-watching this (possibly the third time now as I have your channel playing whilst I work) and I wanted to say thank you! Thank you for helping me realise it's absolutely OK to move around in subject matter and have many pieces going at once. I always try to start and finish one piece (since someone gave me a nasty comment) but my nature is to have a lot going, you've helped me throw that comment out of my head and embrace what works for me which is often upto a dozen pieces on the go! It's my "style" that ties them all together, not WHAT I'm painting ❤️ currently have 2 landscapes, 3 plants and a seagull on the go 😅

I love your art. In rewatching this it occurs to me perhaps your rushing is not to record but to one final item. I rush too perhaps the beach is a rush to insert a bird, cat or dog walking towards the water. In the sink perhaps a teaspoon and folk crossing each other. Perhaps you are rushing towards a moment, a breath of a small image. I think your work is working for me. Let us enjoy the journey 🌈

Hello Gaynor….so much content in one video! I loved the sketchbook, the beach scenes, Malta inspired……..I loved it all😂 I am never disappointed watching your videos. Would still love a studio one though, plus storage ideas etc. You always seem to just have stuff to hand, but to have that much, it must be well planned as to how you organise it all. Such an inspiration! Have a lovely week.💐

Hello Fiona, how timely your comments ALWAYS seem to be !!! I spent the whole morning having a bit of a rejig in the studio. I do let things slide because I'd rather paint than tidy. After nearly two years in the Cabin, I've noticed what areas work better than others and I want to make the most of all of it ! I will concentrate on studio this week 😊🥰 and painting 😂

Ive just discovered your channel Gaynor, and am loving it. I'm having a great time viewing your older videos and catching up with the current ones. They're very interesting, and inspiring. I live in NZ and paint in acrylics, some abstract and some figurative. I just viewed a video about getting going in a sketchbook when you don't have any ideas........ exactly where I'm at right now. I'll give your ideas a go and I also loved the one about painting your sketchbook covers, which I'll do. Thanks very much for your videos Gaynor. I love your friendly, chatty encouraging style ❤

Prickly pears remind me of Micky Mouse's head! 😂 I am a big fan of the golden yellow and blue tones you are using in your beach scenes. I love that your art isn't stagnant Gaynor, you always have plenty of work on the go and explore fresh and new ideas and topics. You have made me think about using different sizes of paper/canvas rather than my standard A4 Paper size. I am learning a lot from you in my approach to art so thank you so much! I really enjoyed today's video and the prickly flower paintings were amazing (i really really was talen aback). I love both pieces, when you went over with white i wanted to scream dont but i see that you are layering. That beautiful color palette and your unique artistic style is so refreshing it really gives off your personality too. I would definitely love to have one of your pieces hanging in my home one day. Im always looking forward to your videos and when im looking for inspiration i go back to your old ones. As always, thank you for your transperacy and giving me a reason to paint freely.

Funny. I dug out a 4B pencil today also for a drawing of a magnolia flower. I was at my pastel class tonight. Not thrilled with the painting yet but will borrow some of your enthusiasm - and have a go again tomorrow! Have an idea for a painting with leaves, I picked up some on a walk. Like you, I have several projects in varying stages of completion and also my home made concertina. What fun it all is! I think your Malta paintings are coming along nicely especially with the addition of the prickly pear!

Hi Gaynor 🌸 Wow! Your sketch book work is Awesome! Loved so many pages in it ❤️ So creative! Really loved ❤️ where your Malta paintings we’re taking you before you Mullered them 😱 They had the most wonderful glow to them….I was in Awe of your talent. The one you put white paint all over it was so lovely🥺 😭 You do make me laugh, what you do seems to trigger a reaction in me 😄 Can I say that you seem to be happier and more free in your sketch books than on canvas. Not so much pressure to deliver maybe? What you do spontaneously is just lovely, you really don’t have to try….your talent is so natural. Love your work ❤️❤️❤️

I really like the smaller canvas with the prickly pear on either side of the blue green door there on the upper left. The depth of color on the beach canvas is lovely. Amazing what a small mix of color can do for a painting. Your sketchbook tour was wonderful! I’m working at being freer in my sketchbooks and working in it everyday. TFS Have a great week.

Hi Gaynor, Always love watching your vlogs. Best art vlog on this youtube to date. You have so many ideas tucked away and are warm, open and a real inspiration to other creative people. Thanks so much for sharing your art and processes, intentional or not. From Jo in little New Zealand 😊 Just an idea for the one with the vines on the house fronts, maybe a pop of orange to signify bougainvillea flowers, might help bring some colour into it. Or light bulb type hanging on strings??? Not sure if im helping or hindering. Sorry. Ive never traveled, so im unsure of the feeling you get when in a new place. Wonky prickly pears are such fun!!! Ive seen and grown a few, even tasted the fruit....unremarkable, as i cant remember the flavour. Keep smiling😊 Lov3d your ravens and the last page, collage was truly awesome. The colours, bright, contrasting and forms, so bold.

I very much enjoy your videos and love your style. I'm in southern Italy and prickly pears are everywhere. Unfortunately my giant one, right by the house, toppled over a couple of years ago. By the way, if you don't know, before they produce the fruits, they make gorgeous flowers.

Robert Burridge has several great videos about painting pears. That succulent looks to B coral color? A tortillion ( all sizes) works wonders for smearing graphite. Started working pastels and chalk and acrylic combo... It's pretty cool stuff. After spraying over the chalk under drawing/painting twice ...it became a canvas, so... went on using ink, acrylic, and even more chalk. The color choices that U have been using the last few weeks have been awesome ... plz show more mixing processes. We gotta know ur secret for unique hues. The large flower behind ur chair looks like a finished piece? Right?😢 or R U gonna U know Gaynor it 😅... Maybe the "carpenter" can make U some original mixed shape canvases. Googled that subject for fun ..... triangles, anyone! Ann, a succulent/cactus fan.

Yeah! Someone on you tube who flits around almost as much as i do. Actually you do finish and sell. I dont get that far. Yes it is wonderful to have lots of ideas buzzing and pick up and put down as you choose. Some poor soul on you tube said what we should do is a series, six paintings of one subject and you do it start to finish. What you and i do was some kind of 'blockage'. And i am like 'no darling your the one suffering from crea\tive constipation'!! As always, love your channel. Your are a source of great inspiration. best R

Question Gaynor: I have ruined 3 really good uniball black pens by going over stabilo crayons and some watercolor pencils on my ground, and they clogged, so what kind of black ink pen do you go over your grounds and acrylics? Black pens that don’t clog up? Thanks!
@gaynorpattle Жыл бұрын
Hi Sherrie, I only use my uniball pens over bone dry acrylic in the sketchbook or on card work. Stabilos will ruin the pen and watercolour pencils will do the same if they aren't a wash. You could try acrylic ink on a thin stick. Good Luck X
