I definitely see Robert Pattinson in this piece. I was just watching another one of your videos when you upload. 💓 I absolutely love you work. I also love when you use your White Nights. White Nights are the paints that I own and love.

I was sitting next to my mom today watching this with some afternoon coffee, as per usual, and she goes "Wow she's really good at painting Rob Pattinson" lol (: I really liked how you explained how you find your references in this one, that was incredibly helpful. And I always love moodier color palletes, and I love this piece too! ^__^ great work!

This is going to sound weird, but you look and sort of have the energy of a leather worker or something in a fantasy novel who spends everyday calmly working at her craft and just enjoys life. You just have such a calm and warm atmosphere, it's so nice.

I am so guilty for having ignored watercolor for the first 5-6 years of my Painting. But thank God I finally started doing Watercolours last year and realised it's beauty and greatness. ❤️

same!! I was just so intimidated by watercolours for years and then one day I just decided to confront my fears and just sat down and painted for hours........ ever since that day watercolours have been my go-to medium for urban sketching and journalling

your work is a huge influence on me right now - the looseness, realism without being realistic, the combinations of boldness and sort of washed-out shades... it's really shaping the way I paint lately and it's cool as hell. def gonna try more limited palette pieces!

Arleesha your limited Palettes series is so inspiring and I have tried the colours you use in each one in my own work and to also try limited palettes of my own making. It really focuses your painting in a unique way, and further enhance values ans shades etc. It's something I want to take further in my own work. This is an interesting idea, I use yellow a lot in my own work for mixing, but the idea of not using a yellow to paint with really intrigued me so will definitely be trying this myself. You explain things in a really personal way that is really relatable, and as always it's amazing to see the creation of one of your amazing paintings. Hope there will be more videos in this series. Thank you for the insights and inspiration.

I really love your watercolor limited palettes series! It's really well made and art is always on a really good quality! And for todays palette, here's my word about it - i, as a colorblind watercolor artist [tritanopia, lack of yellow] really love the art and don't include this color to my works. I'm so happy to see someone doing it aswell!

Lovely way to start a weary Friday morning before starting a late shift at the vet clinic. Great moody palette. You've used that cadmium red light so well to highlight those moody eyes.

I guess I need to play around with Naples Yellow a bit more. I have generally avoided opaque watercolors (which is definitely limiting when it comes to yellows) but I've also been playing with gouache a little bit lately so I might be more tolerant of opacity at this point. I do tend to try to limit my color palettes in each piece to keep the colors more cohesive. Leaving out yellow sounds like an interesting challenge!

Have you ever tried using the Zorn palette? Black, Warm Red, and Earthy Yellow (like PY42/43 Yellow Ochre). In Acrylic and Oil, they also include white, but watercolor, you just use the paper for that. The black takes the place of any blue, and its really amazing the "green" tones you can get when placed next to the warm red. I like it since it's the first palette humans used, between ash white, charcoal/bone black, and iron oxide reds and yellows.

Hey, Arlee! Here's a potential idea for a video: paint a piece without doing any colour mixing on the palette, you can only use paint straight from the pan or blend them on the paper.

Lol that's funny because when i paint i usually almost instinctly go for reds and blues and purples but i use yellow only when there is skin with warm lighting involved and it's my most untouched colour in my palette but i didn't know that leaving yellow completey out even for skin was a thing haha xD But i guess everything is possible in art

Personally, I'm in love with the color mixes I get from my Schmincke Permanent Red and Cerulean Blue Hue. I prefer mixing those for a good shade of brown over adding yellow, red, and blue. I look for depth for my browns and yellow tends to lighten it up too much for my liking
