8541 here with something to add for the readers... There's three types of enemy locations: Known, suspected, and likely. So even if you're not seen (known), you also have to be in a position that's neither suspected or likely (the lone tree, the perfect window). Unfortunately this often means you'll have to set up your FFP in the 3rd or 4th best position which tends to be just a few meters away from a comfortable location with superb observation and fields of fire. Camouflage is as much about the will to suffer as it is deceiving the human eye and adjacent electronic sensors.

Some thing I would like to see, but never do, is how to set up the camouflage without giving away your position. You guys did touch on it, which is something no one else does. For example, when you are building the screen we are making a lot of movement and are exposing the broad flat profile of our backs. So someone could have the best hide site but have given away their position thru the movement of building it. Is this something you could address more in a dedicated video?

All good, but one thing you didn't address in your site selection is your egress route. Getting in is one thing, but getting out after the shot is extremely important if you wish to keep breathing after kicking the hornet nest. That obviously applies more to sniping than observation... but even in the recon role, if by some odd chance you're spotted and taken under fire, you need a way out so that you don't get pinned and popped.

The biggest problem people have with camo is that they will wear all one type and have their tools painted all one style. The best example of camo I've ever seen was a photo I guy shared of what he did with a paintbrush. He reproduced different styles on each part so it was an ugly mish mosh up close. It vanished at 10 yards though. :) Paint little spots on the barrel. Paint little stripes between the M-Lok holes. Do big, soft colors on the receivers, etc.. The point is to break up the shape.

With all the knowledge you given them from the prior days. They gotta Be within 100-200 yards of the target. And from being stationary at the target, use binos/ drones to find them with like a 20 minute time limit. And for those who are not spotted, they have to shoot the target to win the game. (move away from the target) lol. Kind of like clear and present danger except you dont stand near the target for obvious reasons. Give them a hefty discount on the next class or something. Having “served” 18 years in the Marine Corps (my father retired when I was 18), my brother and I had high and tights, until we were 18. My brother joined the Army and the government pissed me off so bad (took some of my dad’s benefits away), I never officially joined the Marine Corps; I truly regret never joining. Back to the reason. When you have to have your hair and face in a certain way everyday, you go dirtbag asap. It’s the freedom of being able to do what you want. If I didn’t start losing hair in the back, my hair would still be long. Now it’s #3 shaved, because nothing is more stupid than a skin kippah, surrounded by long hair. I still have my beard, but I keep it trimmed now; still a lot less work than shaving everyday, sometimes two times a day. If you haven’t experienced having to keep all your hair in regulation, you will never understand the freedom. Yes, we listen to our dad, until he literally said “you are 18 and responsible for your self.” Curfew, hair cuts, chores, free food, free car insurance, getting up at 7am, all gone. We paid rent, bought our own food, or paid half the grocery bill, had to get a job or move out, paid our own car insurance, etc., but I got to let my hair grow out and started working on my beard.
