Ahh, the mood of that Emma painting with her iPhone, the darkness, I love it. Even though the subject isn’t dark, rather the opposite really. That one looks rainy or dreary and the colors are great. It’s got a jazz vibe.

A real treat to see and hear about so many pieces ! As with music, if the artist likes the song or painting, people will usually like it too. Even when it's about something personal that one wouldn't think "the public" would relate with, that often seems to somehow work even better.
@chamberlainpaintings4 жыл бұрын
I agree! I've always trusted in that and it works. I've sold paintings in a wide range of subjects. If a painting is honest and well done it'll find a home eventually.

Thanks for the visit it was awesome. The painting with Emma and the car is flawless. Incredible how you managed to paint her features so accurate with her being your daughter because usually painting family is a struggle.
@chamberlainpaintings4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Martin. That painting came together pretty quickly and I'm convinced I just got lucky with her features. I realized how lucky I had gotten when I tried to reproduce the painting. I worked on her face for days on the reproduction and couldn't get it to look the same. And I had both paintings next to each other! I just couldn't reproduce her face as it appears in the original. I even used calipers! Couldn't do it. The new painting looked like Emma, but there was something missing.
@martingimenez3394 жыл бұрын
chamberlainpaintings I understand, faces are very difficult and painting them twice is even worse. Not so long ago I had a commission and the guy wanted me to make the portrait of him, his daughter and his son on the same canvas and since they were stranded he handled me some bad pictures...it was HELL! I said yes because usually I say yes to everything challenging in life but this one was a pain in the ass. I had to make a bigger print of each picture, transfer them to the canvas, separate the nuances by marking them with a pencil as if it were a painting by numbers, then loose the strokes to hava a painting with feeling and finally it came out good but it took me a week of sweat. I admire those portrait painters who can make a beautiful portrait within a couple of hours without even thinking. Im not much into portraits and faces in paintings but I know it's necessary to know the craft.

Michael - I love your work, both your paintings and videos. I am making my way through your video library, and learning a lot. Do you have advice on painting city scapes and buildings? Unlike nature scenes, I find getting the many intersecting angles found in buildings reduces me to penciling in lines to then paint within. This feels like the tightest of tight painting, and like I've created my own paint by numbers. Thank you!

MICHAEL. - getting to see some of your most cherished moments preserved memories that convey thoughts of forever multi - feelings , very special sharing in home, you and surroundings touch a feeling I had of “” Living art “” , , vocal sincerity added Life to the images, subsequent symphony spoke fluid , , moving emotions into and from these works of reality with art, seems I perceive strokes of love in the layers of color, don’t think I could ever call it “” work “” , ( that borders on insult ), I had to subscribe , thank you so very much ; )

chamberlainpaintings ( your welcome michael), , (hesitantly, I must tell you, additionally , there’s more in your paintings, to be seen , that I see, , , images, objects, animals, people, faces, multiple, singular, some on an open wall space, window sill, in the water, sky, trees, in the limbs , with or without leaves, windows, shadowed images in the windows, edge of a curtain gap. Only “ some “ paintings do I clearly see what may not be there, other people have criticized. However, red shack painting, there’s two dogs, a cat, also a human face, that’s just in the red shed wall area and the water, the mission painting, there’s a white owl above a doorway , sitting on the ledge, also a person with a red shirt, deeper, on a second story balcony. Your paintings, many many pictures, in the shadows, intentionally or not, the paint was on your brush in your hand, for me, , this is some of what I see, just the one sense, of Looking ! ) ) ). The light house with the bridge, the bridge leading to a house on the hill, and, the house on the hill, that’s a 3 piece set, or maybe only to me. Your paintings are incalculably unique in a rare , very rare way.

I've been watching Emma for some time, but I just came across your videos! I've always wanted to be an artist, but I'm a little scared though of being financially unstable. I also quit art class after middle school because I felt it took too much time, and I didn't really like the assignments we had to do. I also wanted to focus on academics for college etc. (I'm a senior in hs now) Recently though I've been painting for fun in my free time, and I remember how much I enjoy it! Mostly I've been painting my own cards for friends and family as gifts (also because I'm broke 😂). I really like the style of your art, especially after watching this video. I've never painted with anything besides acrylic paint, but you've inspired me to maybe branch out to oil paint in the future. Best of luck on your painting journey 😊 keep up the good work!
