I think the repair you did turn out most excellent and I think it’s always important to listen to the customers needs and wants. And this customer obviously drove quite a distance for you to work on his vehicle. He wanted to save time and probably money to and you give him some options, great job!

@@corky1334 ya ok. Keep telling yourself that as that hole you drilled starts to rust and corrode. You as a “good technician” should explain that you’ve worked too hard on your “skills” to drill a hole in the panel.

Really hard to justify drilling a hole on the door jamb these days. Majority of the customers I deal with never likes extra holes in their vehicle. A vehicle inspection company told me this before, if they see a PDR hole on the jamb they immediately flag the vehicle as frame damage due to the hole. This will dramatically decrease the cars value once it is turned in after lease or sold to the auction. It has always stuck with me on what he said.

Thanks for your comment. I see what you are saying and get people have differences in opinions. I always try to do want the customer wants as long as it is reasonable. I don't feel drilling a small hole hurts anything and having that considered as frame damage is not the case. Thanks again, and it is always nice getting others view points.
