Kathleen, thank you SO VERY MUCH for sharing this recipe! I was pulling my hair out trying so many other recipes and they didn’t help my bank account either! When I saw your video with the recipe, I went right out to Home Depot and got the Behr 8300! I went straight home and started mixing paint cause my daughter was coming over so we could do some acrylic pouring! We were SO HAPPY with our paintings!!! They were the best we’ve ever done!!! I love the Behr 8300. The colors don't lighten when your mixing. They remain vivid, more true to color, and so many varnishes work with it. I love the Varathane triple thick with Behr, then add Jo Sonja or Minwax polycystic to thin it. It is so much fun! Also, US floetrol with a few drops of Minwax pre-stain wood conditioner creates beautiful cells.

Thank you for sharing all your recipes! To make it simple, I just remember that 4 Tablespoons equals 1/4 Cup Jo Sonja: 4 TBSP = 1/4 Cup = 60 ML = 2 oz Behr: 1 Cup = 240 ML = 8 oz So it is 4 parts Behr to 1 part Jo Sonja When I didn't have Jo Sonja, I substituted with Minwax Polycrylic and it worked almost the same, but I had to use 3 parts Behr to 1 part Polycrylic.

Kathy, you are a wonderful instructor and a beautiful artist. I appreciate very much the time you take in explaining and simplifying these formulas and techniques. Watching you gives me such hope and inspiration that I, too, might create something beautiful - that I, too, might say, "This is so pretty!" Unfortunately, I have not achieved that yet. But I did, finally, get cells following and using all your formulas exactly!! Thank you! However, I am still frustrated because all my cells just disappear! They seem to just dissolve. I'm so hoping you might know what could be causing this and have some possible solutions I could try to remedy this disappointing and frustrating issue. Again, thank you so much. Is that also true when you do Dutch pours or do you thin it out with water then? Hi Kathleen, I feel like I am going to pull my hair out and cry! I have been trying to follow your technique for months and tonight I finally did a successful swipe. The cells were absolutely stunning and I can’t express to you enough how incredible that feeling was in that moment. Five minutes later they all turned to mush. I used your exact recipe minus the vivid enamel for the medium. I don’t have it available so I used gloss varnish, I also added Minwax wood conditioner to my American floetrol. Could it be my base? I'm sticking with the old pouring medium. It's much simpler and I'm new at this. 😊

They both work equally as well.

I use the stirrer also and as long as you keep it under the paint it caused NO bubbles. So thank you for the new formula. So I have always wondered why the paint for the base and the paint for the P/M has to be different. I am off to buy BEHR 8300 deep base. Again thanks and your the best of the best. JOY-ART
