This was such a cool mating video seeing them in a very close to wild setup. He had plenty of space to run away with, even if he jumped out the front instead of into the bushes. I liked the drumming that wasn’t just on glass like other videos, and getting an up close on his emboli was cool!

That is definiatly an apophysis male. Love those purple colours on the legs. Females have those sometime after her molt but if fades into a lighter purple colour. Wow that balfouri was mad mate hahaha.

Yes, he is a Theraphosa apophysis male. The mature males get that purple coloration. Sometimes it's very bright and in some it's rather dull.
