Pairing the Turtle Beach Stealth 700P Headset and Transmitter

Dude you have no idea how grateful i am to you. I couldn't find any forum online about how to repair the headset if it gets unpaired, so i searched it up on youtube. Took like 30 minutes of searching to find this video, which is literally the only one that has helped. The instructions never said t o hold the power button until it pairs, so i didn't. hello guys i have stealth 600 . the headset was working finr working brfore i connected it to my laptop and updated the firmware on it . and then it wouldnt turn on or give audio prompts . its only had a red light flashing at the bottom of it . it dose the same thing when plugged in and wont go away when the power botton is pushed . the light in headset only work if connect with cable ( red light flashing) please help

The 600p does not have a bootloader but the 600x does. blinking red is bootloader behavior. are you sure you dont have a 600x?

Are they for the same headset model? I don't know why you'd have multiple 700p transmitters. Also if you're connected and your PS4 is set to chat audio while you don't have an optical cable connection you won't hear anything.

Hiya, let's see if I can help! Did you get it from www.turtlebeach.com/pages/audio-hub ? You'll need the windows or the mac installer from there if you want to update the firmware! You'll only be able to update the firmware from the Mac or PC Audio Hubs, the 700P won't update by itself or on the Android/iOS versions through bluetooth. You can definitely use them right off the bat, but there's probably been a bunch of fixes since they left the factory, I'm 90% sure the most recent update made it so that your headset won't lose bluetooth pairing when you update it anymore. I think the update before that fixed the sound levels for iOS via BT... (Not 100% sure on that one though) I hope that helped!

@@deleted3716 You can't charge _just_ the microphone... You *have* to mean your headset. There is no charging voice prompt, I just checked. You can play and charge but it's highly probable that you will get a buzz on the game or the chat path. Play and charge is not recommended.

That sounds like either your USB port isn't up to snuff and the transmitter isn't getting enough power or the FW is bunged. Try a different port first on the same device and then a different device's port. If it's doing the same thing in both of these scenarios you can try a bootloader update... If that don't work you'll have to talk to support!

If you're connected to PC, make sure to choose them as devices. If you're connected to PS4, and *DO NOT* have the optical cable connected, make sure your audio device settings say you want to send "all audio" to device, not "chat audio."

Solid red means you're either not getting enough power to start it up, it's not inserted all the way, your current USB port is messed up, or the firmware was bunged up (perhaps during an update?). If you connect the transmitter to a different port or on a different device, does it react that way all the time? That's the first thing to check.

Nope, the 700X connects via xbox wireless which understandably the PS4 doesn't have. You could use the aux jack to connect @ 3.5mm cable from your headset to your ps4 controller though

you can still use it wired (as long as it's powered on). It doesn't come with a 3.5mm cable though, so make sure you get a 4-pole cable!

I don't know if they're in stock at the moment, but you _can_ get a new transmitter and pair it to your headset. They're not locked to the headset that came in the box with them :)

Audio is still coming out my TV while the headphones are in use, is that normal isn't it supposed to cancel out the TV game audio and just headphone audio my plug in headphones canceled out the TV audio why aren't these?

When you use an optical connection from the PS4 it continues to output through the HDMI as well. The same is true for the Xbox actually. Just lower your TV volume and you should be fine.

No, Xbox Wireless is a totally different protocol than the wireless connection the PS uses, you won't be able to use them wirelessly on your Xbox. You _can_ use them wired to your controller though.

If you have headphone output set to "Chat Audio" then chat will not play from your tv, it's only going to play to the headset. In order to get the full use of the headset, that's what the settings have to be set to.

The PlayStation 4 doesn't accept bluetooth headset connections. The only Bluetooth devices it accepts are controllers (including a couple specialty ones like the Guitar Hero/Rock Band controllers) and I think there's one or two proprietary Sony headsets that connect via BT.

Darien Ramsingh you can but you won't have independent control of your game and chat volumes. You could get something like turtle beach's HDAC for an optical connection though

The cool thing about the optical connection is that when your ps4 is set to headset out>chat audio (instead of all audio), you can control incoming chat audio with the second pot on the headset. When you have just a USB connection without optical, the second pot on the headset will control your mic monitor volume instead.

@@JoeBPack over Bluetooth? What color is your 700? I'm now 80% sure you have a 700x, not a 700. If it's green it's for the Xbox. This video is for the PlayStation headset (700p, which is blue). The Xbox headset doesn't have a transmitter because it connects directly via Xbox wireless.

Most likely not, unless you had a micro/USB c to USB a female adapter. But I don't even know if your phone would read it. You can use the 600p on the switch that way though

I don't know Turtle Beach still sells gen 1 transmitters online, but as long as you have the same model headset and transmitter, they will pair.

you won't get game and chat separately, but you can use a mobile cable and connect them to your controller

If it is not working that way then try to do the opposite and turn the headset on and hold the on buttons until you hear the headset BEEP. Then you plug in the usb or Bluetooth piece that goes in your ps4 then use a small item and hold in the button in the tiny hole! It worked for me.

That depends on how you're connecting it and your television. If your tv has USB ports that are both power and data, you can use the transmitter in that way. If your tv has USB ports that only do power AND a toslink connection, you can take the toslink connector and put it in the transmitter and listen to audio that way. If your tv only has power USB ports and no optical connection then it won't work...

I have a Stealth 600 gen 2, but there doesn't seem to be a pinhole of any kind in the USB transmitter. Is it where the little cut-out is on one side? or is it anywhere on that side with the cut or the other side?

The gen 2's for PlayStation will automatically pair once they're powered on, there's no fancy gimmick like with the gen 1's. But! If you're looking for the pinhole to set them into bootloader mode, when the logo is single point facing down the pinhole is on the right side of the transmitter.

If you have it set in PS to chat audio without connecting the optical cable that's what you'll get. On optical audio the TV and the headset get audio but the signal won't transfer to the headset unless you have the optical cable connected

You don't need an optical cable to pair the headset to the transmitter. To that end (ha, puns) the optical cable has nothing to do with the headset at all actually. It goes into the transmitter from your console/tv.
