I loved the interview! It gave me a so much better view on all the confrontations musician’s have to deal with (challenges, decisions, hard work, but also unexpected moments and coincidence). All thanks to great questions and great answers.

By the by I love that you feel uncomfortable unless you are being you. & that's so important. It's about being you. Not about playing a character In a movie. But still do it is GREATNESS

I love the capability of both Joe and Orianthi but lost interest in both. Orianthi had such a great start with her early Aus record but as soon as she became produced it became generic sounding to a point.... Joe was great and experimental until Flying in a Blue Dream...Since then tones and style stayed the same... I totally lost confidence and respect after he toured with the whole Mike Keneally trio as his backing band and didn't give that band (which are way more experimental and interesting) a specific spot...

Interesting. I think the Joe Satriani record and Crystal Planet were both great albums. Engines of Creation was fairly experimental for the genre and Joe caught a lot of flack for it from segments of his fan base (he also caught a lot of grief for having vocals on Blue Dream)!

@@Guitar-B-Q Agreed with there are some great pieces across many of Joe's albums - I still have listened and own a few of them - Engines of creation being one... But once he found his signature highly compressed guitar voice for lead playing he's used it on almost everything which became fatiguing very quickly.. He is technically brilliant and a flawless player but the voicings make most of his work sound very similar..
