Classic! Would be an excellent aux hi-hat as it has a very different and distinctive character that would pop nicely in the mix.

Oh! I wish you'd made these back in the 80's. I had a set of 14" sound edge, but they were just a bit heavy for me and I just love the sound of these 13" ones.

As far as I know, the 2oo2 Sound Edge 13" size has never been unavailable since their introduction in the 70s. Do you have any source that claimed that they were not available in the 80s? Not trying to argue. I'm truly just wondering if I missed something and would like to know. I know that Paiste did discontinue the 2oo2 13" Heavy and 13" Medium hats at some point. But I think the 13" Sound Edges were never dropped. I also remember that Paiste tried to eliminate the whole 2oo2 line completely when they came out with the 3000's in 1986. But the outcry thankfully prevented it.

@@coyumbo3427 When I bought my 14" 2002 Sound Edge Hi Hats, somewhen in the mid 80's I thought the Sound Edge was a new addition to the range and at the time there was no 13" versions available. But I could be wrong. The idea of the sound edge was to allow the air out from between the cymbals. Then not long after Zildjian release some hats that had 4 holes in the bottom cymbal, which was flat for the same reason.

@@coyumbo3427Provide evidence? This isn't a court case bro, it's a comment section on KZbin about cymbals 😆

@@DemonDog444 Fixed it! I did more research and found out that the 13" Sound Edge model had been available all through the 80s. I feel bad for C0zyDunt believing he couldn't get them back in the 80s when he could have if he hadn't been given false information. I went through a similar thing when I thought that the 602s were not available when the Signature line came out in 1989. From what I learned later, I could have bought 602 cymbals up until 1993 or there about. Of course, they brought the 602s back, but are still a bit limited compared to the old days.

I played a set of these for years! These days, I tend toward the Signature 13" Sound Edge Hi Hats. I find rhem to be very versarile for me, despite their perceived "harshness"(?). They can be played softly and be very exporessive, and then be taken to a roar of sonic combustion. My next favorite would be the Signature Heavy 13". 14" hats have been relegated to auxiliary application over by the Dry or Dry Dark Ride. I have two sets of the Signature and a 2000 Sound Reflections that I found on Ebay years ago.

These don’t sound good irl. They are hard to make them sound decent. Too thin

I love these cymbals, classic. The 2002 graphic is sick, but that 13" Sound Edge graphic is so unrefined & clumsy.. completely unnecessary. Please do something to improve it.
