Thank you for your straightforward and no-nonsense r&r of the transmission. I did it the same way on the ground with a trans jack I sent the unit out to be overhauled. I saved myself a bunch of money by doing the swap myself. Great video.

Great tutorial and tips. "WELL WORTH WATCHING" this tutorial guided me in changing my transmission on a 2003 Ford E250, everything he says and shows is worth the time to check out. Honestly, it was an easy fix, I would do it again.... to drain your transmission fluid completely, you can just blow into one line and catch the fluid in the other, doesn"t need much pressure, thanks again, All Tsab, stay safe

@@jean-pierrehall2914 it was easy on my e250. Take off the trans able. Balance a jack on the transmission,, i tied a thick wax rope in front and back of transmission, it was heavy, and lowered jack, and adjusted the ropes as i lowered it to the ground. Don't go under trying to hold that weight, it's awkward and heavy. I went to harbour fight tools and bought the log lift used on a pickup, also i bought the motor holder, I think both were like $150. I put the log offer on the motor stand, strated it inside the van, like a engine hoist, i strapped the transmission on with strapping, and hooked to the hook on the log hoister, slowly jacked up, until i line up the pins that are on the transmission. I also bought 2 long bolts, same as the transmission bolts, to help me line up and slowly bring the transmission to the engine. Honestly, i did it by myself like this, it wasn't too bad. If you need more let me know, sorry I just saw your message, Mike in RI
@miketo58283 жыл бұрын
@@jean-pierrehall2914i tied 2 waxed rope, one in front one in the back as to balance, and won't drop abruptly, it's heavy. I had a jack all the way up under the transmission pan, and slowly lowered and adjusted the rope. Of course all this was after the shaft and selector was removed, be careful with the selector, it's brittle and can break,. But it's cheap on ebay. Measure the length of the cable in case it breaks you have the length. You lower and raise the same way for safety, it's no too bad

Hi All Tsab, so I decided to replace my transmission after watching your video, its great. But I stripped 2 of the 4 torque converter bolts. Any suggestions? I think my only option is to use a chisel, if you have any other possible solutions please let me know. These 2 bolts seamed like they where previously removed and tighten and I think they were a little rounded already. Freaking A. Well any help is appreciated.
@alltsab Жыл бұрын
Slide the transmission out and the you have more from to work that bolts. Yes you can used chisel. Prefer air chisel air hammer. At this point will be mess. If your transmission come with torque converter then just cut it off with metal saw and buy new flex plate. Good luck and please help me subscribe I'm counting on you. Thanks
@pvaldeben01 Жыл бұрын
@@alltsab Yes excellent idea, the used transmission came with the torque converter so I will slide back and cut off the 2 rounded bolts. I'll try the chisel first, if it does not work then I will do the slide and cut method. Thanks again and I have been subscribed and bell on for all your content.
