As a pashtun I will say that I still remember my childhood in our country. We used to travel from one village to another for school, which was poorly built and lacked proper facilities. When it rained, water would drip through the roof. Despite our deep desire for education, there were no good teachers or resources, and our parents couldn’t provide much support. We endured so much, far from an ideal learning environment, but we made do with what we had.

We get some days vocations and then the United nations had started installing the tents in the school ground. I approximately spent two years over there. Then we shifted to masque due to harsh weather in upper swat and later on we lodged in a home. I had never sit in the bench up to my middle school. Now I am in the last semester of my studies. Just wanted to say that these are teh people (Pashtoon), who are suffered a lot from the terrorism, there is still no peace in some areas where Pashtoons live. On the other hand, Pashtoons lands provide, Gas, electricity, and copper, etc. and Govt. and some OTHER PEOPLE are getting benifitted but they dont even have the schools in those areas. They should be compensated more, should be provided with more and should be respected. When they ask about their rights then they are stampped as traitors. This is very sad and unfortunate.

Hello DW, as a pashtun this is the exact situation of our rural education system. while i myself am living and have been studying in urban schools, the situation is not so different apart from having better classrooms everything in this country revolves around money and power. The willingness of hard working students is not met with competence neither with fairness and the opportunites are sold out to the highest bidder(i will not dive deep into it but for e.g you can look into the medical sector). Thus the poor and deserving are left out from studying and especially scholarships.
