Pakistan: Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sparks Controversy After Wearing Police Uniform
Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz lands in trouble for wearing police uniform at passing-out parade for women constables in Lahore, Pakistan. Opposition PTI criticises Nawaz for wearing a police uniform. A petition has also been filed against the Punjab CM for “impersonating” a police officer. The petition seeks instructions to file a complaint against Nawaz, calling her move “unlawful”. According to Pakistani media reports, the case hearing has been postponed by the court until April 29. According to Punjab Police, head of states can wear police uniform.
