(3.3.24) India is likely to a face decline in exports of basmati rice in 2024 as Pakistan is all set to capture the international market with its competitive prices amid increase in production.
The arch-rival countries are leading exporters of rice, famous for its special aroma and length, to countries such USA, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iraq and Iran.

I am from Pakistan but I fully agree with you what you have said. Pakistan is way behind India in all spheres of agriculture sector crops, research, volumes, water conservation, etc. The successive governments in Pakistan have destroyed the structure sector from valued less water-intensive to lower-end and high water-intensive crops like Irri-6 and Sugar Cane. Politicians in Sind and Punjab like Sharif Family, Zardair, and Jhenagir Tareen are the key Sugare Mafia in Pakistan and due to their political influence, our cotton crop is going down day by day. We are forced to import wheat due to illogical and wrong policies of successive governments. On the other side, the Indian cotton crop which was much smaller than our crop in 1947 is exporting cotton to Pakistan. We have no comparison with India which needs to first feed its own 1.4 Billion people and then export its surplus which they are doing successfully for so many years. As a Pakistani, my suggestion to Brother Abdul REhmanis that please do some logical analyses, and do some research before making your V-Logs. Doing Volgs for promotion feel good factor based on wrong and incorrect assumptions is in fact a disservice to our own people. Only share the authentic facts and promote objectivity even if it's not favorable and does not create a feel-good factor. I have seen many Pakistani and Indian V-loggers unnecessarily drag India and Pakistan into their V-Logs to increase their viewership instead of focusing on their internal issues which prompts comments from the other side of the borders and starts a war of words.

News is correct. I have checked from Business Standard and ET. But Pakistan exported@24% high, not 36%. This growth seems temporary for Pakistan as there is a MEP imposed by the Govt of India. Once the election gets over, and fresh demand is created then exports will be changed.

India accounts for over 70% of the world's basmati rice production. India produces up to 12 million tones of basmati rice annually.... India exports basmati rice more than what pakistan produces. This guy says shipping price will be high and hence it will increase the price of Indian basmati rice .. If he had used his common sense then he would have also mentioned that if shipping price increases for Indians then automatically it will increase for Pakistan as well.....

@@Wolverine1902 Bhai main ny to un ki political discussion deckhi hain is liy. And it has logic because size of India is too huge to produce rice for it self and to export. It's better to produce other crops since it will be more productive in terms of water utilization. If you have any better argument or document against it then please share.

@@asadullahbappi3763 Kaha dekha pata nahi lekin chalo facts check karte hai... India ke pass excess rice har saal hota hai wo bhi large quantity mein... India sent tons of rice for free to Afghanistan, Srilanka and other countries in need. India had banned export of the rice coz there were few countries who were taking rice from India and stocking it to sell it later when the international rice price would go high due to shortage. Why shortage coz those countries were stocking millions of tons to create shortage. Hence India decided to ban rice exports. When the international community asked India to export rice and remove the ban then India replied stating that we will export rice on request of individual countries and not leave it open for anyone to buy coz then those countries won't get rice to stock it....

They already get most benifit which no where in world gives. They want more coz elections is coming and they want aap to win so targeting modi nothing else. As soon as election is near it will be over. Also they are demanding 50% hike in all crop prices and asking govt to pay, they also want govt to give them free electricity, loan waiver, fertilizer, pension, salary etc..nowhere in world anybody gives pension and salary to farmers. Punjab farmers only demanding those coz election cominf and aap party pavin them
