I am from Karnataka and this art in temples is part of our heritage. There are statues of ladies wearing bangles which can slide in the hands. Ladies with mirror in the hands. The sculptures are so beautiful only word I can use is Breathtaking. About forceful conversions it has happened in a very bad way in India over centuries but still peoole have resisted it , but many ordinary people got converted under duress. The pain of the first converts get obliterated in next 2, 3 generations and they follow the same mentality. This is the harsh truth. Entire Iran was converted in 17 years, Iraq in 15 years, Egypt in 21 years. But in India it was not 100 % successful. It is for all the people of sub continent to think who were their forefathers and how knowlegeable they were.

It is a heritage site Iman. Moazzam's question is valid. My take is that they are sure to be stored within the temple in secret chambers that we are yet to discover. Case in point is the cellars of the Padmanabhaswamy temple in Trivandrum which is the most richers temple in the planet. Only a few have been opened till date and we have discovered so much of riches which are equivalent to the GDPs of many countries of today put together. If we can see the quality of inventions that Bharat has given the world (let us acknowledge that we both are from the ancestors of the same land) we should be certain that we can be proud that such equipments are sure to have been there.

Worth knowing ! Only problem is the title : There has been a serial named the same , which is based on the book "Discovery of India" by Jawaharlal Nehru . History of science is written by Europeans and since it is well documented , it must be accepted . However , that does not mean it never existed outside Europe . Another factor is that of concept (imagined) that was not physically built. So that may not be accepted as a proof that did exist. The example of airplane indicates the best example.
