@@brokeforever I'm actually concerned here. You can buy food over there for $1.50. Ideally, it can cost a few thousand dollars to install pipes and a few other things in a first world country but in that place, getting the pipes and a few other things would have only costed them like $200-400, so my question....what happened to the other $4,600 dollars that Mr Bald donated? I'm not seeing any major changes in that place and 300,000 rupees is an enormous amount of money. That's like 3,500 bana leaf thali meals equivalent. Where did the money go?

You can clearly see that's exactly what they are doing though. Harald Baldr used to have a blog writing about traveling and fucking locals and prostitutes. Their posts were found on pickup artist forum RooshV and can all be read and found using the way back machine to read the blog that Harald deleted. Just type into Google 'way back machine' and Harald Baldr and you can read for yourself.

Seems like the hard and expensive work has been done. It wouldn't cost much to add several large holding tanks to provide water when it isn't available through the pipes. They could use elevated pipes so electricity would not be needed to pump it.

Wow I hope the electricity issue can be solved, when I'm over I must stop by. Maybe I could donate enough to help build classrooms and work on some kind of agreement with a university or government scheme were they provide teachers for these kids as some sort of work experience .

I always wonder how it works - refugees say that they do not have money for most basic needs, but on many clips and pictures they do have smartphones, sometimes it's hardware worth over 200$. How does it work?

Some of them seemed to doing better than others, I even saw a car in the village. But a few of them have shops selling random stuff so I guess some do have a source of income.

I would veiw a smartphone as useful enough to be helpful and worth the cost. You can communicate with others and family despite distance, make important calls. Things like that.

They weren't always refugees. It's very likely they bought their phones and stuff back when they lived comparatively normal lives in Pakistan, and then brought them along with them when the persecution got bad enough that they fled to India.

I've seen them use large batteries for fans but not everyone has it. I was curious about the satellite TV and electrical outlets too, it looked like maybe some houses had some sort of a makeshift connection for power so who knows.

I don't know, man. The video gets more troubling as it goes along. No electricity ... except a few clearly have it. Only limited water ... except some kid casually turns one pipe on, and voila - water. And who is the big red haired guy standing around holding cash in his hand? He live in the village? In fact, why are any men in the village? Is it late in the day and work is over? If people are donating thousands, then dozen of questions need to be answered. Also - any update on this? It's been a year and a half.

They told me that a couple people who were sick during the summer didn't make it because of a lack of even a fan in their homes. In Delhi it gets incredibly hot during the summer and heat strokes are not uncommon. Until recently they didn't even have access to clean water.
