This reminds me of the time I lived in Muscat & the restaurant I often frequented run by an elderly Pakistani gent. The kababs served there were the best I have ever had. At the end of our meal the owner would be positively embarrassed taking money from me. It was as if I was visiting his home & he was extending his heartfelt hospitality to me.

If I can get the tamarind chutney a little better it will be out of this world. I enjoyed my chicken haleem but it needs a couple or few more tweaks. Talk about a delicious challenge!

Jim Clark good luck with making the Haleem. My wife makes it being Pakistani and it takes a full day. Shredded meat and quite a few Lentils not forgetting the masalas that go with it. Results are worth the wait. Don’t forget to top with fresh ginger, green chillis, fried onions and lemon juice.
