Mutton Pakku and kebab are not the same, and it’s frustrating that people confuse them! They come from completely different traditions. Mutton Pakku is a proud Nepali dish from the Newar community, where mutton is marinated and fried to perfection, especially during religious festivals. It’s rich, flavorful, and dry - served with rice or chiura. Kebabs? They came from the Mughals and have nothing to do with Pakku! They’re grilled or roasted, often over an open flame, with a smoky taste from the Middle East and Central Asia. Two totally different dishes - don't mix them up!

True ! people from Nepal never knew how to fry mutton. Then the Newars (5% of total population) invented the mutton frying technique. If you search further it's most probably from Newars from ktm.

Pakku needs to be cooked for longer, and no it is not nepali style kebab, it is called PAKKU. Please don’t westernise everything.
