I didn't know they still made the NA V6 for the Sorento. love my 2017 AWD V6 Sorento, but it's relatively thirsty in the city (around 20mpg). cruising on the highway is great (I get up to 32mpg vs 25mpg epa rating). but the 6 speed automatic in eco is slow and almost no throttle response until it violently kicks down and thrust forward. normal is smoother but I don't like the gearbox constantly maintaining higher rpm/lower mpg even if I'm feathering the throttle. Imiss my manuals that you can drive smoothly and efficiently, and also use all the low down torque without downshifting, or downshift smoothly. no need to compromise for fuel economy or throttle response. I mean you cant have both at the same time but you can switch smoothly from hypermiling to more sporty driving. I've never driven the more torquey 2.5T or the quicker 8 speed auto though. I'd love to try hybrid or phev versions too to see how the throttle response is improved (daily driving an electric fiat 500e which is infinitely more responsive) but I would probably rather get a RAV4 prime for the money even if I lose the 3rd row. 300hp and legendary Toyota hybrid experience

@@geemy9675 here in Pakistan, we don't get Sorento in hybrid / phev, so not much of a choice other than 3.5 V6 naturally aspirated 8 speed auto. Also this is a right hand drive and Kia RHD 3.5s don't get AWD either. Nor is Rav4 available. So given all that we have rather limited options. The alternates are Chinese 7 seater / 3 row crossovers all of which come with smaller, but turbocharged engines.

I also currently own Kia Sorento 2.4 awd and i enjoy it everyday car is very practical and capable according to my needs, oil and oil filter from kia costs about 7500 and air filter costs about 3000, i have driven it around 9000km and it’s has very reasonable maintenance and dealership service is very strong, it’s a great opportunity to buy it in this price

The guy who did the 0 to 100 didn't perform it properly. The initial wheel spin distorts traction and gain negative time effecting overall countdown to 100kmph.

I own a 2.7 fortuner. I have driven this Sorento 3.5 . This is million times better than Toyota Fortuner . The only negative thing with this is ground clearance. This is proper 7 seater with A/C in 3rd row. Fortuner is not practical 7 seater. Its just piece junk. Extremely uncomfortable. Can't sit in 2nd row for more then 45 minutes. Buy this for family 7 seater. Invoice price 75 lakhs. You can get it for 73.50 lakhs after discount. . .

Correct but in its League of 7 seat crossovers this is most ancient, most expensive and worst on fuel. The modern Chinese onslaught has rendered this to very questionable value/tech purchase The market has moved on tremendously.

@@ciybersal9833 until 1979 toyota corolla had no features in it. No Disc brakes No radio No cigarette lighter No carpet , seat belts or heater No tinted glasses or side mirrors . 4 speed. Then came honda civic with all features mentioned above. Only then toyota started giving features in corolla. But couldn't match civic. Toyota loot customers with their brand name. .

Any reference in Pakwheels?? Can someone ask them to review Sorento that has completed/driven 30,000+ KMs to know how robust and reliable is it? The sale of this vehicle has jumped in last few months. Almost selling 230+ units every months that is mainly because of low price tag. As soon as the existing stock is sold the price will increase So the review by Pakweels for the longest driven vehicle will help in buying decision for those who are considering it as an option as compared to Chinese Oshan x7, Tiggo etc On the long term the vehicle reliability is bigger factory than few additional features that may not be very practical on day to day use

Great review. Only sensible & detail oriented people will buy Sorento, its a great value for money, not for the sheep herd mentality. AWD is a total waste in city driving, I am glad this guy made the sensible choice of going with FWD. He is lucky to have avoided the GDI which has its own set of problems (valve deposition), port fuel injection is the sweet spot, without the downside of GDI but improved efficiency compared to a carburetor.

sahi baat ki ke torque main sorento se zyada ha but another point is that its a big heavy stupid suv which doesnt take torque to its advantage thanks to its 2.7k kgs which resists it whenever have a drag

Buy Sorento. Zero OWN money and instant delivery. I did the same. These new entrants has yet to prove themselves whereas kia has already established. Naturally aspirated engines are more reliable to the quality of fuel we get in Pakistan The only car ( Sorento) in Pakistan with no price Hike, and delivered within hours Aur kia chahiye 😁 Glory is value to money if you like turbo engine otherwise if u like naturally aspirated engine then Sportage or Sorento is value to money. if u like naturally aspirated engine then Sorento is value to money. Naturally aspirated engine is good with any type of fuel and its average is better than turbo engines. Turbo engines are not good for our environment because of bad fuel available and fuel average of turbo is very bad. I have Sorento and its simply best. The car is available readily with NO Own money on it Kia has one of the biggest dealership network. Kia has better reSale than any SUV crossover category. Spare parts are available whereas rest of other competitors yet have to establish them for above mentioned merit. Most of the people who committed here neither has glory nor Oshan. Baatain sunn lo busss . Glory is a car now well tested while Oshan has yet to prove. Atleast give it two years to see if it is okay to buy it. I doubt people who mostly committed in such posts have their borrowed opinion . I shifted from sportage AWD to Sorento FWD 2.4. Sportage i drove for exactly 5600 kms. Well i loved sportage because of the seat comforts and pleasure driving it but my father and mother ( both of them drives ) were not very big fans of sportage as they loved driving CHR more. Anyways when i shifted to Sorento here are the few points. 1. Overall seats etc are almost same like sportage. 2. Suspention is also almost same but when fully packed sorento's back suspention are softer like Carnival means they do not give you a jerk like in Fortuner instead give you a floating experience. 3. I dont know why but Sorento's drive appeared to be much better to me and my parents. It appeared to me more smoother and more pleasure to drive. Gear shifting is more smoother . This is what I and my parents felt. 4. Ac performance of sportage was great but Sorento is next level. Why ? Because even the last seats have controlled AC (seperate) in northern areas usually the front AC was off because the windows were open but my children kept the back AC on and controlled themselves from the back and had a great journey. Even for the last seats Sorento have foot vents which for me was a great great thing to see. 5. Fuel consumption. Well sorento gives better fuel consumption according to me then sportage! Why ? Because with 9 of us on board driving to nathiagali and back in heavy traffic conditions on Eid holidays it gave me 12.4 kms per litre which was extra ordinary. Sportage when you drive it between 80 and 105 consumption is around 12.5 to 13 but as soon as you go to 120 or 130 the consumption falls which is not the case in sorento. As engine is bigger the RPM at 120 remains lower and consumption is not affected much as in sportage. Exactly 63 litres used for 798 kms driven. Which according to me maybe is the best milleage any seven seater can give. None of us felt tired even after the hectic road conditions of the GT road and traffic during Eid holidays. If you have any other questions you may ask if i missed something ++------------------------------++ Brother you'll have to understand the difference between suv and crossover. Sorento has a unibody frame while fortuner has a body on frame build. Fortuner is better for off roading and on bumpy roads it will be far more comfortable than sorento. While on the other hand sorento's road grip and handling at a little high speed will be better than fortuner. So it all depends upon your requirement. If you are going to use it majorly on highways than yes go for sorento. But if you are going to travel off road regularly then fortuner is a better option. _______ I have Sorento . True value to money car. And yes,Sorento has been in Pakistan for almost a year now, if you take the 1st 100 CBU units into account and it has been tried and tested on Pakistani road. Car is wonderful to drive on long . In city power is kind of extra. On long pick is good with fully loaded excellent and grip is amazing. I have taken turns at high speed and car does not feel it will topple over or loose grip. 100% satisfied. Best thing about Sorento is the soft and supple ride, excellent suspension and ground clearance, even fully loaded it can take the worst if speed breakers and worst of roads. Suspension is so soft indeed that car has body roll inside, but due to bolstering on front seats you don't roll around. As for Oshan or even Tiggo 8 pro. Both will have to go through the test of time. But for Oshan it is a made up 7 seater with various flaws in its 7 seats. One getting access to the third row is extremely difficult you have climb on the 2nd row to reach the 3rd row. Second, it has reduced features as compared to Sorento. Cramped space for the 3rd row. As I am using Sorento now, easy access to the 3rd row is a must with good legspace in 3rd row. Otherwise 3rd row is useless.Sorento as it is the biggest and established competitor of Oshan for 7 seater in this league. I own Fortuner . I personally believe it that it's totally waste of money to buy Fortuner as it's a off roading vehicle and one gets tired with it in urban ride. Sorento is luxury, class and comfort. you'll get amazing fuel average even Fortuner is king at Off-road tracks while Sorento is king of highways.

I have driven Sportage more than 45,000 kms now opted for Sorento. Our office entitlement is top spec Honda which was Civic Turbo priced at 3mil in 2016, 4.5mil in 2019 when I opted for Sportage and now more than 7mil with all options when I opted for Sorento with difference of less than 5lac. Sorento is wider and longer than Fortuner and much more comfortable. Has more power than Diesel Sigma Fortuner or Legender. The engine of 3.5 Sorenro is much less strained than Sportage and power is available on demand. Best value for money option at this price point. We have booked 3 cars for one of our offices. I must say that Kia has proven itself as a better quality brand than Honda and Honda's pricing has contributed to its success.

The Kias, Sorentos or any other, CANNOT be compared to a Fortuner. A Fortuner is an OFF ROADER with a ladder frame chassis and a transfer box for low range gearing. Engine displacement is another thing altogether!

Depends on your needs. For city and motorway driving, Sorento is way better + better at features and practicality. The reason people still buy Fortuner is because of its road presence. It looks like an actual, bold and aggressive SUV which Pakistanis love. But right now, due to their huge price difference, less people are able to buy Fortuner, resulting in higher Sorento sales.
