PAL announces commitment amid filing of bankruptcy in the US, says flights to continue

In a video statement, Philippine Airlines (PAL) Chairman and CEO Lucio Tan, through his grandson, Lucio Tan III, director of PAL and PAL Holdings Inc, announces commitment to see through PAL recovery despite the filing of bankruptcy in the US.
Tan said the airline would "maintain its position as a premier global airline" and "PAL will continue to serve its valued customers and the Philippine economy, now and long into the future,"

I have good memories of them back in the 80's traveling to the Philipinnes from the U.S. as a child. PAL had class and their stewards and crew were top notch. Lately their customer service has been lacking and the passengers in the economy class are treated like cattle. I hope PAL get their act together and be at top of their game. Many OFW and Philipinne nationals are counting on them.

In the 90's i worked for philippine airlines. Then lucio tan came in and destroyed everything. We were all scrambling to find work somewhere. Vultures swallowed their pride, and went back to work for them again. Very few, who had kept their pride and principles found ways to do other things. I was one of the lucky ones.
