Thank you for this great video Chris! About the suggestions: No. 9: I always transfer my files using the USB cable and drag and drop. My computer recognizes my X-T4 and the SD cards automatically. I am using a Dell laptop with windows 11. Not sure about the speed though. For no.10 there is a workaround for the self timer that I use most of the time. I use the interval timer instead and can determine the starting period as I like it. I then stop shooting when I think the shot is okay. And to all of you complaining about the AF: How about learning to focus manually? Photography is an art but it is a craft too. As long you do not start to learn how to focus your lens manually you will never master focus when AF fails. And it is so easy with a mirrorless camera. You have a bright viewfinder and can 10x zoom in and check your focus. Focusing is just a matter of practice, and if you have done that for a while (some years, several thousand pictures), you will be as fast and as precise as the best autofocus. Unpopular opinion but AF is boring AF...

One of the biggest complaints I have is how Eye AF Is coupled with photometry. It causes wild variability With exposure between when it detects an eye and when it doesn’t. Granted, if Eye AF was 100% reliable this wouldn’t be as much of an issue as I could just use the expose compensation dial, but I feel that’s a much bigger ask.

Personally, I want one thing - the ability to choose which things I want to set individually for positions C1-C7 and which I want to set universally for the whole camera. On new cameras, the C positions store separately the AutoISO settings, converter settings (in the case of the X100VI), etc. I have various film recipes mapped to the custom poses, and it personally annoys me that when I switch simulations, I have to think about switching, for example, the AutoISO value again, or the converter settings for the older version of converters for the X100. I'd appreciate the ability to choose somewhere which items I want to have set separately for each custom position and which I want to have globally, and which ones stay changed when I switch custom positions C1-C7, as was the case with older cameras when these items weren't saved separately for each position.

💯on improved autofocus being #1. 👍🏼on the others. Not keen on 7 and 9. My top asks are: 1) a customizable subject detect toggle button option so I can toggle between off-animal-bird (or whatever subjects I want) instead of just subject on/off like it is now; 2) A combined bird/animal subject detect mode; 3) ability to have a turn of rear dial to change focus box size when shutter speed is in auto; 4) more options for what to display in large indicator mode (e.g., AF-C/S/MF); 5) Explanations for why stuff is greyed out in menu (could be tied into Chris' Q menu suggestion); 6) Ability to customize what rear screens and info Disp./Back button toggles through; 7) Displaying SS when in auto and DR Auto and Auto SS is on; 8) Allowing a few more settings be added to My Menu (e.g., why can't Auto Power Off be added?); 9) Ability to lock large indicator mode for EVF and screen so they both turn on or off together; 10) The ability to choose what stuff changes with C1-C7, and what doesn't. E.g., I'd like the option for Auto ISO custom settings to be the same options across C1 through C7 (but the ability to HAVE different Auto ISO slots apply to different custom modes)

I have had a firmware wishlist item forever but I don't know if they'll ever do it: With the current setup, if your view mode is viewfinder only (AND only when you have your eye to the viewfinder), pressing the Menu button displays the menus only in the viewfinder. When you use that view mode setting, there should be an option to display the menu _on the LCD._ It's how they handle image playback when in that view mode. I don't understand why they can't do the same with the camera menus, at least as an option.

One thing I'd like on X-T5 firmware is the ability to set a button to toggle autofocus zone between point, small, medium, large and track. I know I can set a button to go to the zone controls, but I'd rather have just a one-press toggle. Of course a bit of an autofocus improvement too. Yeah I like your idea of customising the double-click on the joystick. Like a lot of people, I set my zone above the centre of the screen (where faces usually are), so don't need the double-click to centre the zone in the middle. Love your vids as always. I think a lot of Fuji users as hobbyists, like me, and your infectious personality really captures the vibe of why I take photos. I don't need people po-facedly talking about amazing kit like their viewers are compensating for small wi*kies!

For the self-timer, we also really need time-delay *and* number of shots! An age ago, one of my cellphones had this feature (but not my current) - it allowed me to set a timer and shot count, say 2 second delay with 3 frames shot a second apart. Great for group photos, because someone *always* blinks! Kind of a "photobooth" feature. And these can all be infinitely variable! It's almost as easy to add a feature as it is to then add a customization sub menu which allows you to scroll through the variables.

I must be one of the few people that doesn’t have a major issue with the Fuji AF. I shoot mainly birds, and my x-h2 does everything I ask of it and then some. Its AF is not up to that of my Sony a7cr, but it’s good enough - and it has the indispensable pre-shot mode that the Sony doesn’t. (Pre-shot works superbly in the x-h2, perhaps because of the its fast memory card and generous buffer). In my experience, the AF is most reliable when using back button focusing.

And I feel for people like me who use GFX for portraiture 100 / 4 ~= 25 would be just enough - close shutter curtain automatically when turn of or without lens, GFX sensor is dust magnet, how it can go without this feature for the price of GFX bodies?

I'd love to be able to map buttons to turn on/switch to just _one_ subject detection mode. I shoot mainly birds and animals, so being able to swap between birds and animals just by pressing between two buttons would be great. currently you can set subject detect to a button to be on or off, but to switch between the two requires you to go into a menu. also being able to map a button to swap between AF focus modes would be great, sometimes I want to track a subject and ignore objects, sometimes I want it to just prioritise what's in the square. caveat... I am on a very early firmware on my X-H2, 2.01, because the AF is pretty good and it doesn't have any of the AI updates or any of the recent AF problems. so.... yeah I guess first and foremost they need to "fix" the autofocus, or just revert to 2.01.

I was mostly a Canon 5D user, for a living, and X100V user for leisure. But as of lately, I've been doing a bit of portraiture with a GFX 100II, and the autofocus (with every kind of face/eye detection used) definitely struggles! they just don't look super sharp, and even though I can see the focus area on the camera in the viewfinder, you can see that other things in the foreground/background will be more in focus than the face/eyes. Super embarrassing, and tbh now I just wish I didn't use autofocus, because the focus peak highlight works fantastically.

I was updating the firmware from the phone app. When I called the repair site they told me that I should only do it downloading to an sd card not the app on the phone.

Can the Film Sim dial be saved by a firmware update? I wonder what implementation can salvage it

Time delay for video seems kind of pointless in my case where I'm taking sports shots and have a delay anyway when the recording starts sometimes up to 3 seconds after pushing the button.

I can't remember the last Kaizen update that significantly improved my camera. It fixes some bugs and AF (not necessarily better). Sometimes they throw in the new fil simulation. That is it. Not impressed at all.

Classic Neg and for the XT3 for the love of god. It has the same censor and processor as the XT4 …

the mt 50 doesn't work with thetering, the remote control specified by Fuji needs an adapter that doesn't come with the camera, it's a shame

Fujifilm seem to have abandoned their Kaisen philosophy. Older cameras rarely get any updates. For example, the focus bracketing feature on the X-H1 is rather clunky compared to the next generations of cameras. It seems to me that an upgrade wrt this should be doable. Thankfully, however, Fujifilm did not "upgrade" the AF on the X-H1.

I bought the XH2 and hear very little about it. Still want an update but don't seem to find a date for it.

Currently Fujifilm user. Will not buy an upgrade until autofocus is improved. Will switch to another brand if nothing happens this year.

Fujifilm was hitting at fixing the autofocus and new firmware in the beginning of this month! Still nothing, as a Fuji user for the last 11 years I have always felt good about my Fuji gear, as has most of us, but Fuji need to understand that this is starting to get critical! Either they have to fix this or tell us they simply can’t!
