I knew you would like this video Gloria, and i said so to Yvonne when we were filming this.. I love going to this market, it's a real good one, and one of the things i like about it is that it's under cover, which means even if the sun is in full swing you can walk around here without getting that hot or burnt.. Thanks my friend, hope you and your lovely family are all OK there...

Oh i love wandering around the markets Lorraine, there are always great bargains to be found in them, and in this market the food looked very fresh on every stall we looked at, including the one with the winking fish (Big Smile) Pleased you enjoyed the video, and the next video for this channel might be a bit of a religious one, i got the video all made up but i want to do a little voice over at the beginning, because Yvonne told me something this afternoon about what was actually going on and i found it VERY funny, so i just might add a few words to it before i upload it, and i will try not to laugh ha ha...

Oh you two would like this market, i like it because it has a roof over it and i don't like being in strong sunlight, and Tilly hates it too.. Oh yeah my winking fish lol, fish don't have eyelids so they can't wink really, but one of them sure looked like it was smiling at me ha ha, this is what to much sun and lack of sleep does to a man (Big Smile) thanks my friends..

Hi Nancy, i can say a few words in Visayan but not that many, and a few in Tagalog too, but believe it or not i actually know more Chinese Mandarin than any other language due to hanging around with a lot Chinese people when i was at school.. My wife's favourite pastime, shopping in the local market but I don't mind nice to mix with the locals We buy all our fruit and veg and fish there, price of potatoes very high in Manila , Yeah it's best to mix your food a little just had a craving for bacon sandwiches had 3 for my dinner makes A change from rice 😋 have a great day there thanks for sharing.
@ABritInThePhilippines8 жыл бұрын
I'm like you Derek and love mixing with the locals, but there are many Expats that won't mix at all with the locals, or won't let their kids mix with them, and when i hear of people like that i wonder what the hell they are doing in the Philippines.. Yeah potatoes are so expensive here ain't they, and the lady in this market was charging 100 peso per kilo, and i thought that was a bit expensive to be honest, because i have seen potatoes in the mall supermarket for just over 60 per kilo, so it's not always cheaper in the markets, and i have just bought 5 kilos of rice in the Mall here for 191 peso, when most other places are charging 50 per kilo, cheers Derek, have a good one....

Carl, you luck out going to the market! There is no way I can go with Maly and walk out with a single small bag. Hey i am not always that lucky Steve lol.. We did not really go in there to buy anything, we just happened to be in the area so went in there, but we bought a nice fish and got some potatoes, but i forgot the carrots which i wanted for the horse which we took a ride on from here.. its a hard life for working horses here in the Philippines, and whenever i take a ride on one i like to give them a carrot or apple, anyone that knows me well knows i prefer animals to most people ha ha, cheers mate have a good one...

Ha ha, was it the fish at 4.25? i used to love watching Stingray Vic, love the start of that show "Stand By For Action" lol.. Hi Leonard, i first came here in 2012, and in that six years i have seen so many changes here in Iligan City, and i think if you came back now you would be shocked by how much it has changed.. I have said it many times before on my channel that Iligan City is very much a city on the up.. There are so many new businesses popping up almost daily, and what with the huge Robinson mall now, it's great place to live, i can see in the future that Iligan City will rival many of the big cities in the Philippines.. Many thanks my friend, hope you and your wife are doing well over there...

Hi Dave, sorry for the late reply but have not been around for a few days on YT.. Hey that's great that you will be coming here in September to meet your lady Jenny, and i hope it will all go well for you, it's good that you have been friends online with her for four years, i was friends with my partner for over two years before i decided to come here for a meet up.. I have been to Ozamiz City, made a few videos there too, and one was from a rather good hotel they have there.. Ozamiz is quite a busy place, and you may find it a big culture shock compared to North Wales lol, but it's a great place and the people are very friendly there.. Ozamiz is not that far from where i am, just a short ride on the ferry.. If you have not been to many tropical countries before then be prepared for the heat here, sometimes it can be unbearable, i hate the climate here lol, but apart from that it's a great place, and the people are so friendly.. Anyway i wish you the best of luck Dave, am sure it will go well, have a safe journey mate, and if there is anything else you want to know then feel free to ask...

Yeah i think i understand what you are saying, but am not sure if the C3 road is to become the new Night Market, as i heard they were gonna close all the stalls down on that road, but there is a new market being built near the bus terminal, and it looks like it's gonna be really good, it's a large area and it looks like it's nearly finished, and i would not be at all surprised if that area was to become a new night market, it's big enough and looks like it's got more facilities available, plus its an easy area to get to with the jeepneys and coaches that pass by there..
