"ചാറ്റൽമഴ ആസ്വദിച്ച്, നെൽവയലുകൾക്കിടയിലൂടെയുള്ള ചെറിയ ഗ്രാമവഴിയിലൂടെയുള്ള യാത്ര, കാടുപോലെയുള്ള ഒരു സ്ഥലത്താണ് യാത്ര അവസാനിച്ചത്. വർഷങ്ങൾ പഴക്കം ഉള്ള മുത്തശ്ശി മരങ്ങൾ തിങ്ങിനിറഞ്ഞ ഒരിടം. വൃക്ഷങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ പണ്ട് ടിപ്പുവിന്റെ പടയോട്ടകാലത്തു തകർക്കപ്പെട്ട ഒരു പുരാതന ക്ഷേത്രം. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ അവശിഷ്ടമായ കരിങ്കല്ലുകൾ ഇപ്പോഴും കാണാൻ കഴിയും. കരിങ്കല്ലുകൾക്കിടയിൽ നാഗ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ കാണാം. അതിനടുത്തായി ഒരു ശിവലിംഗം, ശരിക്കും ഒരു കാവിന്റെ അന്തരീക്ഷം. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനോട് ചേർന്നുള്ള പടവുകൾ ഇറങ്ങിയാൽ നിറഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്ന ശോകനാശിനി പുഴയുടെ അടുത്ത് എത്തും. മഴവെള്ളം നിറഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്ന ആ പുഴയുടെ കാഴ്ചകൾ ആസ്വദിക്കുന്ന ഏതൊരാളുടെയും മനസ്സ് ശാന്തമാകുന്നുള്ള ഒരു ശക്തി പ്രകൃതിക്കുണ്ട്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനോട് ചേർന്നുള്ള ആൽത്തറയിൽ കാറ്റും കൊണ്ട് ഇരുന്നാൽ കുറെ പഴയ കാല ഓർമകളും മനസിലേക്ക് വരും. വൈകുന്നേരങ്ങളിൽ കൂട്ടുകാരും ഒത്തു കഥപറഞ്ഞിരുന്ന അന്നത്തെ അതെ അന്തരീക്ഷം ഇപ്പോഴും ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ട്. സന്ധ്യമയങ്ങി അമ്പലത്തിലെ ചൂട് പായസം കുടിച്ചു വീട്ടിലേക്ക് യാത്ര തിരിച്ച ഓർമ്മകൾ പഴയകാല ഓർമ്മകൾ. പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിൽ ഉള്ള പാലത്തുള്ളി പാലൂർ ശിവ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ വന്നാൽ ഇതെല്ലം നേരിട്ട് കാണാനും അനുഭവിച്ചറിയാനും കഴിയും."
