'we can dance forever and pretend', well they can but she doesn't want to! I thought about the video for a moment and the lyrics are actually (in my opinion) really dark and sad and therefore fit perfectly to the video! they pretend (in a relationship) that everything is fine, she says I am not staying at home and tries to get free from the metaphorical strings that are holding her back but she realises that the person she is with is heavenly and she can't get away from that person because she is so attracted to this person! she is trapped between that thought that the person is heavenly and that they could pretend everything is fine and the fact that she wants to stay till the end alone and to get herself away from that person (that she's kind of addicted to) SO sorry for that long text but in my opinion the lyrics are really heart breaking because being attached to a person so deeply can be dangerous and creepy and so is the video! AMAZING VIDEO, I LOVE PALE WAVES 🖤 Heather is SOO fucking beautiful, I might die! and her eye colour, the eyeshadow and the earring kind of matching is heavenly too 🖤

As a musician myself I can easily say that it's not like they're left behind. But every song/video has it's context. I do get your point really, but what I wanna imply with that is, is that it can be hard sometimes to put every member in the proper context of the intention from a song. Sometimes you have to do a music video alone, because only one person can really deliver it or it won't fit in the context of a song. By the way it would be tiring if every videoclip would have a cliché band shot playing their own tunes. But I do get your point, bandmates are really important because they do help to escort the song.

I absolutely LOVE how Heather looks like in this video, and I think the same, it's really dynamic -it fits the song so it's cool to watch- ! I think I expected it to be a little bit different, and I'd like to know the "meaning" of the whole thing. It's kind of hard to understand because all we see is her face or her trying to break free (I don't really know how to explain, sorry if it sounds means or anything) so I hope they'll explain one day, in an interview or something.
