paleozoic grave effects are NOT mandatory, konami R & D sent word to judges that grave effects of traps are never mandatory, which is why it's worded how it is, go through the adjudication conflagration judge group for further clarification

Did Tommy miss-play at the 10:25 - 10:35 mark? He banished a Fog Blade from grave to special out a Boots, then revealed to special the second Boots, overlayed into Break Sword, then detetched to use Break Swords effect to pop Russells Anti-Spell and the Break Sword itself sending it and all materials to the graveyard. The problem is the Boots that were special'd out by the Fog Blade being banished, the card states that the special summoned monster is banished when it leaves the field but Tommy reused the Boots to overlay again after Break Swords grave effect activated.

it doesnt get banished when it become xyz matrial

it gets banished if it leaves the field, and it doesn't leave the field when used for xyz materials ^^

Tom B I mean after the Break Sword hits grave though, it states that is can special out two phantom knight from the grave at one level higher than normal. So that means the two Boots both hit grave before this effect activates, so the one Boots brought out by Fog Blade being banished would technically leave the field right? because it hits grave before it bounces out again. Or am I just being crazy

xyz materials are not considered to be on the field, so boots is not banished

1 question i know it sounds weird but if you have a dante on board with vanities emptiness if you detach for dante and send the material to the grave does the vanities emtiness leave the field ?

The confusion is caused by poor PSCT, why people believe this is mandatory is because it shares card text very similar to light and darkness dragon who is mandatory.

39:40 the judge is terrible. Toad has to directly chain in response to an OPPONENT'S card, and if that were to occur. He can't chain Dinomiscus. Both players might be exhausted , but can't possibly miss that. Also there was literally NO REASON to negate fog blade. You can literally tribute toad as cost under fog blade and it would resolve. Basically just fiendish/skill drain
