From what I have learned, UNRWA has basically been supporting HAMAS for years. I am a Hindu myself and my family was one of the refugee family to move from one part of India (present day temporary state of Pakistan) to other part of undivided India. And there is not even a single lie in the Simcha's statement!!! All the refugees who came to India from other parts of (undivided India) have the citizenship/rights and in my personal belief everyone own land and houses over here. And all thanks to the Indian government for that!! But you can still see Sikhs, christians, minority jews from karachi, Zoroastrians, jains were persecuted in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. So alot of them are still moving back to India like 2 year ago over 150000+ Hindus and Sikhs moved here from Afghanistan after Taliban took over. But all thanks to India and Indian values that everyone is safe here now!! And as we speak those refugees are being granted citizenship of India. I wish UN takes some inspiration from India on how to manage the situation rather then funding terrorism!! Lots of love from India to Israel. Long live Israel 🤍🇮🇱✡️

Most were not Refugees in 1948. Most went from one area of the Mandate of Palestine. They went from certain Mandate of Palestine lands to other Mandate of Palestine lands, whether Gaza, The West Bank, Jordan. These people are NOT Refugees under the definition of a Refugee. They could be considered as IDPs, (Internally Displaced Persons), not Refugees. And there is no other people the world over that their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and adopted children are considered as Refugees.

👍 But the Arab Palestinians who left what became Israel for Judea, Samaria and Gaza actually don't meet the UNHCR definition (or any other legal) of refugees because they did not cross an international boundary. (The status of the so-called West Bank and Gaza being unresolved at international law.) At most, they would be considered merely displaced persons. (Even this is doubtful because they were never Israeli citizens or residents from which they were displaced to another part of Israel.) Only those in Lebanon, Jordan and Syria technically should have qualified as refugees. And those in Jordan also may not qualify as refugees because (i) Transjordan was once part of the Palestine Mandate, and thus those people merely crossed from one part of the Palestine Mandate to another and (ii) those people (and the people living in the "West Bank" prior to 1967) became Jordanian nationals. It is ironic but no one protests the Jordanian decision to deprive Palestinian Arabs living in Judea and Samaria of Jordanian nationality starting in 1988.

The status if those who left in 48? They left...they chose to under the authorisatiin ie orders of their own representatives together with Egypt, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan who chose to start a war against rhe Jewish people on the kibbutses and told the arabs to leave to allow them to do this, with the proviso that they could return once the arabs had annhilated and wiped out the Jewish residents. They did not return, they chose not to return because the arabs list the war and then immediately started the next ine, which they have been doing ever since. The Jews did not stop them returning...they themselves did because they allowed and many took part in the continued attacks on Israel and the Jewish people since 1948 and to date. The once who left settled elsewhere in the Middle East, have had children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in the places wgere they chose to settle...they are, therefore, not and never were refugees.
