I enjoy the most. I think, is there's not a word said. You just get to it and make great stuff from scraps.

Waste not want not! Very nice earthy rustic feel to those brother, I’m the same way. I try to never let any scraps end up in a burn barrel unless they’re off cut ends or splintered lumber... Even then there could be a use. There’s ALWAYS something fun just waiting to be made... Doesn’t matter if it drives the wife nuts with me stockpiling all the old lumber. Funny how they come around and manage to love it when it’s made into something nice like these... Thanks for sharing a great idea. Happy New year! ✌🏼

Pause the video at 19:03 ;) , i did actually use it on this project. Its just not a very good one :/, actually now that you mention it, any suggestions on picking up something decent?
@kiaya0076 жыл бұрын
my go to place to get tools is flea markets and swap meets. you can get some real bargains. with a little refurbishment a good stanley no.4 will do most anything you need a hand plane to do. not to mention its in keeping with the recycling theme. ;)
@kiaya0076 жыл бұрын
omg so sorry i totally missed that hand plane. it looks like a very old no. 3 or 4 from that angle. if it is not performing for you check out how to restore a hand plane by Paul Sellers. he shows you everything there is to know about how to do that. hope that helps. :)

Very nice. Love it when it comes together for no money. A tip for the table tops - glue them together in half-width sections, run each through the planer, and then glue the flat sections together. Less sanding. No one likes that much sanding.

Man that was a heck of a lot of work involved in those units. Where did u put them? Great job man. If I could make one suggestion for next time u are making the tops? Make 2 Narrower strips that u can fit thru ur Dewalt thicknesser? What the width u can fit through it? 12-14 INCHES? I know u need a flat board with a stop piece on it. Shim under the tops with some hot glue to hold everything in place and send the Tops through. U get a flat surface on the top from the flat surface from the bottom board. Then all u have to do is take the board off CHECK IT FOR SQUARE and send it through again. It will save u a huge amount of time on sanding and those little hand planers are shite. They really only take wood off. U will never really get a true flat surface. Once u have both halves of the top planed/thicknessed in ur DEWALT u can glue them together. I realise I'm more than likely stating the obvious here but I just thought I'd mention it. I have typed all of this comment and only seen that this video is from 5 yrs ago. U were probably only starting out here at the time I guess? Now I'm definitely sure I'm stating the obvious but I wasted this time typing the comment I'm keeping it all in here now.. LOL Great job on these pieces pal. KEEP IT UP..

Hi you have amazed me at what you can achieve using recycled timber. These two pieces are absolutely beautiful. I have a friend who offer to give me a whole lot of used wooden pallets and now I think I might take him up on his offer and once I am a bit more confident I will attempt to make something like this. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful work with us. Do you have any measurements we can download please? Thank you again and please keep sharing your great work with us.
@treecycled5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Christine! hope these gave you some inspiration! I cant remember the dimension exactly, i sold these tables last year but i think i had put the dimensions in a comment from another viewer somewhere on here, although that may have been for a different project. Just make it fit your situation! Thanks for watching!

not too bad. I think the only things I would do differently is make the curve more rounded than yours on the top brace, and turn the side panels inside out so that way the flat side is sticking out. They seem to have some beautiful colors that are hidden. Other than that, I love this and might make me a few for the porch in the backyard.

He made this all out of "Free Wood" but, what they don't tell you is, how much it cost for that gallon of glue he used on it, LOL! I absolutely love this build. They look and turned out really nice the already cut notches from the end boards of the pallets adds to the look of them Good job The repair work you had to do came out unnoticed too.. Have to ask this they looked to be mostly used pallet wood and if so How heavy did they turn out to be...?? Here in the U.s most if not all of pallets used here are mainly made of Oak the bottom and center shelf then the thick cutting board type tops Just had to ask on the weight of them .... Thanks for reading PEACE
@treecycled5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I live in Michigan, lots of oak and pine and some cedar are used in our pallets, but that's not to say a lot of pallets migrate in from other states. So there are a lot of different woods in use here! I would say the weight would have ended up being around 25-30 lbs. Definitely not some Ikea furniture
