Admittedly, I can't speak to President Carter's record as a President. His term was long before I was born. But I do think you can make certain inferences about a person by taking a look at how they relinquish power, and how they pursue their life after they've stepped away from power. President Carter went from being one of the most powerful heads of state on the planet, to building homes for the homeless and being tireless in his pursuit of charitable efforts to help his fellow man. That speaks volumes about his character. Thank you, and rest in peace President Carter. This Canadian salutes your contributions to this world.

Carter's laundry list of failures aren't just accidents of history, they're rooted in his deep flawed character and a smug arrogance matched with a profound distrust of America.
