44 lbs. of drag is an absolute beast! I was checking out their Lumicat casting rod with the idea of pairing it with an Abu Garcia round reel. A couple of friends of mine really like Piscifun and have the Alijos baitcaster and Carnivore 6000 baitrunner. Both are very effective. Good video!

I got a Viper X mated to a 6'6" Ugly Stik Elite running 40# braid, and it has been a GREAT combo. It's my go-to combo for pretty much everything! I just ordered the Captain 8000 for my 10' rod and going to take it out to Bodega Bay over Memorial Day weekend. Hope it rocks!

very good video, congratulations, however I have a doubt, the captain doesn't even appear on the piscifun sheet... it doesn't give any peace of mind to buy something like that, what a shame, is there anything that you know that gives me more confidence?

Do you think the 6k size seems just right? Or do you think its over or under size? Yes i know other manufacturers are different. But i just wanted to get your opinion as someone is selling me one for 6k and i was looking up the specs and doesnt compare to like a penn or daiwa.

It’s a heavy reel because it’s made from cheaper materials……nothing compares to Shimano… nothing.. jmo 40 yrs using Shimano… not once ever let down..Calcutta 400 bought in the 90s still silky smooth, that reel has caught everything from striper , halibut , rockfish, bonita, cats … everything lol
