Palworld is an action-adventure, survival, and monster-taming game hybrid created and published by Japanese developer Pocket Pair. The game is set in an open world populated with animal-like creatures known as "Pals". The players can battle and capture Pals in order to use them for base building, traversal, and combat. Palworld can be played either solo, or online by up to 32 players on one server. Announced in 2021, it was launched via early access for Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in January 2024.
The game's comedic premise, which involves using firearms and equipping Pals with them, earned it the nickname "Pokémon with guns". Other elements, such as using creatures for food or placing them to work in mines and factories, have also garnered attention.

More that capturing them, the ridicoulusness of how, after trapping them, they start working for you like any other pal is amazing. Its not even illegal in their society, its just frowned upon. You cant asault someone and beat them to death, thats ilegal, the death penalty for you. But beating them to within an inch of their lives and then capturing them to slave them away forerver? Thats fine, thats out of my jurisdiction. Best game of the year right there.

Ive noticed some other streamers/youtubers accidentally find themselves at other spawn areas (dying and respawning somewhere else on the map) and they just arent as good as this starting area cause this is the only place to find berry bushes and those are really important to find early on. I had zero worries needing food because of them. Plus, yeah great spot for raids when they come up - Ive found they only come from one directions and its easy to shoot at them from above the cliff before they even come close to the base.

This is the Pokemon game I've wanted for about 25 years now, but Nintendo/Game Freak refuse to make. It is glorious! The Paldeck entries for some of them are absolutely hilarious, my favorite so far being the one for the cow pal. Also, the map is MASSIVE. I've already maxed out my capture power, am over level 30 (50 is cap), and have only seen about half the map, despite being an exploration freak with a flying wyvern mount. The progression in the game is pretty solid. If you hit an Exp wall, start capturing/buying/hatching pals you haven't gotten 10 of yet. There's so much to do and explore; doesn't feel grind-y if you understand the game loop, though getting ore for ingots is a tad tedious. I also recommend getting your stamina to 200 as fast as you can. Stick a point in health, and 2 in carry weight, then dump stamina next 10 levels, if you love to explore. I also love the chill PvE with my buddies on our private server. We're hoping PvP is done right, like you have to challenge, and they have to accept. My buddy already built a "gym" castle with an arena at the top of the castle, lol! He calls himself "Professor Spooky," and looks like a late 1800s gentleman with his top hat and beard. His plan is if you beat him, he will reward you with a rare pal. Player character gym leaders is one of the coolest things that could come from this game! This game is already so good, with tons of room for additional potential!
