I want to thank you so much. The power went out at our house, and my son almost cried because his save was gone. I followed your steps and fixed it. Just a note, though. If it's not working on the most recently dated save, try one even just a minute or 2 earlier. The most recent one refused to work, I believe it was corrupted when the power went out. For those who this does not work still: I had a power outage and my save in game is gone, but the folders are still there. Just choose second last folder instead of the very last one and copy paste + replace with contents of that folder. Itr worked for me and only lost like 30 seconds of progress.

Lifesaver! Although I'd recommend you don't use the NEWEST save, as that may be the one that's corrupted. Rather you should use the 3rd or 4th newest to ensure that it runs properly.

Hey, same as a lot of folks, I had a power outage and this video restored my game. HOWEVER, there were two copies of files. The very most recent one I tried like the video suggested and I lost my character. I closed the game and tried the SECOND TO LAST backup save for characters and my character was restored. I did awkwardly get the beginning cinematic but I have all my stats and items and stuff.

stupid Steam decided to ignore the existence of my m.2 drive, once i fixed that, Palworld didnt recognise my save and said it was corrupted (even though i havent touched my pc in weeks and its in a stable and safe place, no idea wtf happened), this video fixed it! i picked the second last save, that worked well the most recent one was corrupted. I also had to click on the "use backup data" button in the save game list to find the ACTUAL save file, and remember which time and date i had chosen for that, for it to work properly. Very convoluted, i hope this never happens to people who are tech illiterate they'd lose their save permanently.

Hey! I had to try going farther back in time with the saved files. i.e. I tried the latest one at 6: 54p but it was not loading correctly, made me make a new character so I did to see what would happen but it gave me a new world. so I went back and found a file at 6: 29p and did the exact same thing and it loaded it up. I was freaking out lol. Nothing special about my world but still several weeks worth of gameplay. hope that works!

I see that it works for most people, but for me, everything works fine, the information from my backup world appears, everything is fine, until I enter the world, which goes to the create character page and starts everything from scratch again, and When I leave the game, the information about a new world comes back, I don't know what to do anymore

Not working. After doing what's shown in the video, when opening the game the world name and other information are appearing correctly but when I press Star Game it takes to character creation screen and overwrites the current world with new one 😥😥
