Just stand at the edge of your base circle and walk through the circle and try to craft a ground item (like a furnace, fountain, etc.) at the same time. Changing the FPS to 30 helps this because it's checking the FPS. I don't know why or it's being affected by it. I did not learn this myself. I heard it on a different comment so no credit to me to whoever did before or whatever. Found this out. You're the best. Thank you!

If you position yourself on the base border so that if you lightly tap the left or right key you exit the base it makes it easier and more consistent to get the timing right

This dupe is very hard to do guys, be prepared to give it A LOT of tries. Took me like 20 attempts for the first time and you never really get used to the timing

i’ve managed to learn how to do pretty easily and cna get it like 80% of the time. Just stand on the blue border until your 1 step away from not being able to build, and then just walk back and click build. If u still can’t time it then try take like 2 steps a little forward from the border and wait till your player turns around then click.

This glitch is much harder with high frame rate. If you have a powerful PC, go to graphics settings and lower your max frame rate to 30, and it will work FAR more often.

AS OF 1/24/24 at 10:56 PM it STILL WORKS, the best way i can explain it is u have to be frame perfect so try to press it right before u exit insted of after, if u see ur player exit the circle then press ityou'll be a few miliseconds off

I've found that if you get your character half out of your base, go to the build menu, and then place what you wanna build, it works more consistently.

This doesn't seem to work for the spark plugs (ancient technology parts). I tried using this on an egg incubator to get the spark plugs and ingots. but it was only duping the other items, not the spark plugs...

you wanna place it the second you step out and you see the material go from like whatever amount you have to zero that's the frame or second you wanna press build so the game gets confused uses material that's comes from thin air

Quick note and something to test: I don't know about PC, but on console if you move while opening the menu of a crafting station, you'll continue to walk in the direction that you were walking in while being in the crafting menu. Combine that with this glitch and you could technically create spheres or even armor and duplicate those as well right? Should be the same logic as here

That’s the beauty depending on where you build and what pals you have at base you don’t really have to do much grinding at all most of my time has been spent running around areas I have no business in and when I make it back I have more resources than needed

@michaelwesson1835 Yeah, it's really more about time investment. As far as I know, I can't have an automated Sulphur farm and stuff like palmodium takes time to crush. Though, I'm only in the midgame so far. I'm learning a lot still and might figure some stuff out. Maybe a duping mechanic will turn out to be so niche I'll never really need it

If anyone cares. I duped my pals. I was at the base. I had a pal in my party, threw the pal out like regular then went to the "pal station" and swapped out my pals. For some reason the pal was in the box bit when I closed out the pal was just next to me as well. It couldn't take damage stayed next to me wherever I went. I couldn't have it go back into the ball. The only way I got it to go away was to take it out of the box put it back in my party and throw it out and suck it back in again. Then it finally went away. Not sure what exploits can happen with this but I'm pretty sure u could have unlimited pals by your side with it also the ones at my base weren't getting damaged after I did this as well. But instead of putting them in the box I put them at the base.

Quick tip. If you lower your fps you will have much more success. The more fps the less chance you have to skip the frame for the dupe

I'm sure they will, but for solo/private servers it's not that big of an issue. Just more or less kills some major aspects of the game. No Man's Sky has had a dupe bug akin to this for ages.

tried for quite a while, doesn't work for me on steam version. and I mean im min maxing how perfectly i can be on that in/out of base line. Making sure the char has to circle so i have a timing window and all. I even made sure to bring all my resources in the base to the area i was trying this at just incase it was pulling any extra i didn't see beforehand. and still, no dupe.

Easy explanation: 1. Unlock an item from your tech tree that requires the resources you’d like to dupe, and is able to be built using the build menu. 2. Gather enough resources to build said item. Put them in storage crate in step 3. 3. Place a storage crate near the blue border of your base, leaving enough room to place your buildable item. 4. Place your building item as you walk out of the border, then cancel. 5. Put all duplicated resources in the crate, and repeat steps 4&5. Tip: Line yourself up on the blue line and walk side-to-side, making it more efficient.
