I would add a roll of quarters. On a recent 3 week road trip we had to stay in an area for a few extra days due to an illness. The laundromat only took quarters. Where we live the laundromats use cards. Also, we ran into an issue at a rest area where the beverage machine would not take bills or a card but it did take quarters.

I generally have 2 rolls with me but you are correct that if you get stuck in a place those quarters are precious.

I was grateful to have camping TP, toilet seat covers, and hand cleaning wipes on a recent fishing day trip. Had to use the facilities at the reservoir, and it was so gross! It obviously hadn't been cleaned in a while and there was no running water. Having those items handy made it tolerable to go there, especially as the nearest facility was a 15 or so minute drive away.

I can’t wait to see where you are going? I’m from Mississippi but currently on an 8 week cross country trip. At the present time we are in Utah. Soon to be in St. George. It is always nice to be prepared for anything. I always have a pad and pencil handy because I am always writing down things as we go along the road. Also, in our glove compartment we always have tums, Tylenol, those rubber Toothpicks, hand sanitizer, lip balm, hand cream, snake bite kit and tick kit. In the middle console we have 2 flash lights, binoculars, quarters in a plastic lziplock bag, our charging cables to charge as we are heading down the road. Our solar recharging unit. On back floor in a plastic box right within reach from front seat we have a roll of paper towels, wipes, umbrellas, an assortment of bandaids in a plastic box. All these things we seem to use on all our trips. I hope you have a wonderful trip and take us along with you. We took a road trip to Northern Utah in July and then into Wyoming. We were gone two weeks and had a great time. We found out that we love southern Utah the best.. 😃😃 We did see some gorgeous country. We will be down in your neck of the woods later this year.

Pam - I traveled for work about 80% of the time. Some things that i carried all of the time included single use toothbrushes and a pashmina (triangular shawl), which was great to snuggle into, cover my head, neck or shoulders, etc. and it folded into a small zippered pouch! Hand sanitizer and a bit of tissue.

I always take a men's extra large spf 40 or 50 long sleeve fishing shirt on long car rides. I'm a woman who wear's a women's XL, I don't put it fully on. I put my arms through the sleeves and drape the back of the shirt over my front. It protects my arms and hands from the sun as well as catch any spills from eating food. I got mine a few years ago at Sam's Club. It was on sale.

The waterproof pocket would be good to store any liquid product that might leak. I always include toilet paper in my bag. Have a fabulous trip.

I find it helpful to have medications in my personal travel bag in case I get a headache, upset stomach or heartburn. Also a few small bags for trash that collects in the car. And a toothbrush and small size toothpaste in case I want to freshen up at a rest stop. And a small flashlight! I hope you have a safe and wonderful trip.

All good stuff Pam. I have a small bathroom kit that I carry all the time in my car. It includes one of those purse-size tissue packs, a couple wet wipes, a small hand sanitizer, and some soap leaves. I also make my own stain remover - because I love wearing white shirts and I'm likely to spill coffee or other things. In a small opaque eye dropper-style bottle or a saline nasal spray bottle, I put 1 part hydrogen peroxide, 1 part Folex (an enzyme), and a few drops of blue original Dawn. It works so well and fits in my purse.

Do not forget to take you a little sewing kit never know when you will need it fingernail file or something like that add something for a headache

I think you will like the lume deodorant. I have not used the wipes but I like the tube. I presume your first aid kit has bandages and ointment for blisters. I also take an extra pair of glasses and some eye drops. I hope you and hubby 😊enjoy your trip.

We enjoy reading to each other while riding, so I would include a book. I also sometimes do a soduko which is fun. I would definitely want to include earplugs and a sleep mask and a lap blanket for around my shoulders.. as my husband's comfy temp is much cooler than my comfy temperature. For our munchies and meds (usually just tylonol and the like), we keep them in an open top container -

Maybe Kleenex, Benadryl in case of bug bites or allergic reaction, a bottled water, travel toothbrush/toothpaste kit? Sweater or long sleeve shirt and socks for those sketchers.

I wouldn't keep any kind of aerosol can (your sunscreen) in the car as the heat can cause the pressure to build up in the can leading to an explosion. I would change that out for the cream type of sunscreen. Of course, that only matters if you plan on leaving your car for a longer period of time out in the sun. Same is true for lithium ion batteries - do power banks have those? I don't know.

I would add nail file, nail clippers, hand lotion and thin leather work gloves. I will be using your ideas and all the good ideas I've read in the comments. Also, I pack an overnight bag with items I will need for the number of nights we will be in hotels so I don't have to drag my main suitcase out every night. Happy, safe miles to all. I always carry a pen and small notepad, to jot down thoughts or questions I have about the area we are traveling through. (I can research when we get home). A pair of small binoculars has also been used on many trips.

Peanutbutter M&Ms! They sure are in my travel bag! Lip balm. Reading glasses. Ereader. eyeglass cleaner and rag (if you use eyeglasses). Pad and pen. Pantiliners. Breath mints. Silk scarf which folds down to nothing, I store mine in a small zip lock - this makes a tremendous difference - tie it around your neck for warmth or for sun protection. Toothbrush. Tums. Ibuprophen.

You may want dental picks or floss to refresh. Flip flops as well just to give your feet a break or a quick change. Lastly some puzzle books with pencils.

I keep a tin of Altoids and a small bottle of Tums in the glove compartment. Those could be added to your bag. A bottle of water might come in handy for cleaning or drinking, although you probably have drinking water already taken care of.

I carry a sleep mask and an inflatable pillow. It's a godsend if you have a headache, aren't feeling good , or don't sleep well, and just need a little nap.
