Enjoy this and all of your equipment videos. My father was a heavy equipment operator. He was one of the best "slope men" ever, using a four wheel steel wheel compactor to manage the dirt that came in when a pad was being built. It was all important that the soil be able to pass inspection and that the slope be right on the pad or it had to be done all over again.

That is a beast of a loader. Plenty of power and no fuss attitude while at work. Great video as usual Justin.

Very cool machine, I love the cabs on all of the older cat equipment... very industrial looking. The back of the outside of the cab seemed to resemble a bit of the 992B as well (although those doors arent sliders like on the 992B of course). Seeing the weights on the front drive axle was pretty cool too, never seen that arrangement. Lots of cool old equipment to see there, the Bucyrus Erie excavator was impossible to mistake in the background. Thanks for the post!

Another great walkaround, lots of good information as always

Good walkaround. A wheeled dozer may not be the most exciting machine to operate, but at least there's a great view of all parts of the blade from that high cab!

@MotoScootMech It actually resembles a 988A more. Everyone's into that BE excavator lol. They'll be a video of that machine in the future.

with machines in the coal mines. does the coal dust/dirt eat through all the bushing/pins and seals on the cylinders faster than a machine working in sand?

@PAmining Ohh maybe that's the loader I was thinking of. Still gotta get my model numbers straight >.< . Looking forward to the BE walkaround, I'm sure you'll have plenty of good facts to spice the video up =D . Speaking of Bucyrus, Cat just replaced the big 'Bucyrus' sign on top of the factory here in Milwaukee with a 'Caterpillar' one. I hope they do Bucyrus justice and continue to make great mining equipment ;D. It sure is cool to see Cat's Global Mining HQ here tho.

@PAmining thats pretty cool to know, all the dust looks stuck hard on the blade.

Could you please do a walk around of that Bucyrus Erie excavator in the back ground?
@PAmining13 жыл бұрын
@davide30541 Yes and no. While a wheel dozer may not have the push power of a track dozer of equal size, it has more speed and versatility. Wheel dozers aren’t designed for the work a track dozer would be used for.

Cool machine. I have seen an older one like that but i dont remember the model
@davide3054113 жыл бұрын
again, good vid. and a question: these wheel loaders have less pushing power compared to a tracked dozer, due to lack of traction right?

@animenut69 There are none working. All are retired and most are long gone. One of our objectives is to locate a lot of older cable shovels. If you're a viewer/member of our facebook, you would see that we just located a 2 big ones out of state.

@jimbo10003 Not to that extreme but it is hard on everything. Eats at metal, gets into everything, turns to concrete when it drys, makes everything black. Nasty stuff!

@MotoScootMech Bucyrus hasn't made "great" mining equipment for quite some time. Good draglines and drills, but their rope shovels are scrap iron.
