Whats your recommendation for a 1.5 pound chuck roast. I just bought the machine and tried a chuck roast. After slow cooking on low for 4 hours...it didnt seem to be progressing very well. I redid it to slow cook on high for another 4 hours. After 8 hours - it isnt cooked. The carrots are still hard. Any ideas?

Hi Jack! Is it possible that the slow cooker feature is not working? Have you reached out to your consultant to see if they can get a replacement for you? That might be needed if after 8 hours it's still not cooked. I'm so sorry. I would switch to a pressure cooking setting to finish it up. Try the beef option for 30 minutes, then do a natural release for 15 minutes.

How do I close the pressure valve?

You should be able to press the Steam release button again and it will close it

@@mrskitty7929 yes, when you're done cooking and want to release the steam you press the steam release button. If you need to close it before it is done you can press it again to close it. If you let it release all the steam it resets itself
