What a difference compared to today. Can we go back to those days?

Gee, I miss PAN-AM so much. That flying organization was the best and will never be forgotten.

Imagine when airlines actually had to compete on service.

As for customer service, I stand by Delta. Southwest used to be my default airline, but they have been trending toward Spirit/Frontier "circle the drain" levels of service. Delta has Red Jackets, who are employyes who get the drunks off the plane before departure but in a very polite manner. The viral videos of meltdowns happen on all the airlines that are not Delta.

Are we sure this is the Worldport? I was under the impression that the Worldport extension didn't open until 1973 and this film is dated 1970.

Very good point. It was dated 1970, but I think you’re right. I renamed it “circa 1973” -Tom Betti

Ah, the days before we had to start wearing clip on ties in the airport for when a passenger grabbed at our necks....

Personalizing Passenger Service (circa 2024). Passenger: "They told me you'll be able to change my seat assignment." Airline representative: "Just #$!*& sit where we tell you. You're lucky you're not sitting in the cargo hold."

I’m wondering how these ladies and gents would train themselves against the present travel audience’s behaviour…

Why is John Cleese in the thumbnail?
@Hartley_Hare2 ай бұрын
That's exactly what I came here to post. I assumed he'd made some cash on the side by participating in corporate training films.

I don’t think that’s John Cleese, I think this was a real Pan Am pilot

@@PanAmMuseum yes, he only looks like Cleese at the end, when he smiles.

Back when customer service meant a DAMN THING to a company lol. Only a MYTH today lol

Deregulation did that. Back then airlines competed for passengers because they all had the same fares. Now it's just about 💸 💰

Service before security. Service with a smile. Dressing up to fly. WTF happened?

Agree, there was a time when people didn't say WTF. I miss those days
