This gives a wonderful glimpse into the daily operations inside the Worldport. Also striking is how the passengers boarding the 707 are carrying only a jacket or pocketbook!

Fascinating b/c this is from the early 70s. Really makes me wonder what was happening at PanAm that caused them to implement this. Was employee morale low? Did they have bad attitudes? Were they treating their customers badly? All this nostalgia we see about PanAm always paints them with rose colored glasses. But, it's videos like this that shine a light on the airline's reality that is fascinating.

What was happening, competition was always at Pan American’s door step! This employee training tool was used to train new hires and veterans alike to keep morale high and focused on the customer. This was prior to the Middle East oil embargo which the airline wasn’t prepared for especially with the arrival of the 747s in the fleet!

Todays U.S. airlines have completely deviated from sound training standards such as this. Instead DEI is the norm with disastrous results. Indeed the United States has fallen.

With our present knowledge in the industry this video might seem funny and everything but informative, however giving it a second thought one can realise that these efforts led to the resourceful, CRM based entities we enjoy to work for nowadays. One more shoutout to PAN AM! 🫡
