Another straight up video, much appreciated! I may visit Costa Rica, but I hope to be in Panama this year. Your videos have been really helpful as I make arrangements and plans. I subbed last year and like every one I see. When I get to PC I'll reach out and see if I can buy you breakfast or lunch sometime. 😀

I prefer Panama over CR. I'm probably biased, though, because I'm a former Zonian. I have noticed that housing prices in the Papagayo area of CR have increased dramatically since the start of Covid-19. Also, the VAT tax is much higher in CR than in Panama. My goal is to be retired in Panama within the next 18 months because the U.S. has simply gone crazy! Prices in Los Angeles are absolutely nuts! Btw, the airport is pronounced Tow-qoo-men and Tah-cu-men. Keep up the videos!

yes I agree it's almost 10 fold in some areas of Guanacaste. If you need anything just ask.

@living_in_latam You're from Canada right? At one point I thought about retiring to Kelowna which is very beautiful, but I've recently heard there are a lot of homeless people, drug addicts, and trash in the streets. I also am not a fan of Trudeau. The last time I was in Panama was 2010. Do you see a lot of homeless people in the streets?
@living_in_latam3 ай бұрын
@@victortoombs4754 Yes I am from Canada. Canada is just expensive for what you get. In Kelowna I am unsure about the homeless issues. But in Victoria where I am from there is an issue with homeless. Not really trash in the streets, that's the first I've heard that. Canada has recycling and regular garbage services. But then again what city doesn't have homeless issues since covid?

@@victortoombs4754 From this and your earlier comment I am in a very similar situation as you, planning to move to PC this year. See you there! The good news for Canadians is that Trudeau just resigned. Californians can only hope Newsom is next. 😄

@@truthseeker9454 We Californians could only be that lucky to see Newsom resign. I'd be willing to bet that Governor Hair gel will be running for president in 2028.

The three lane highway out of Panama City is open for traffic already (it's in your video) The city bound side, also three lanes, has not opened but will be before year's end. You can take the metro to a station close to Panama's stadium, then take a 3 dollar Uber from there.

In one of your videos you talk about housing costs of beachfront/ beach adjacent houses. But you only gave the prices of Panamanian beach houses. What are starting prices for beach houses (easy walking distance) in Tamarindo and Guanacaste? Thank you.
@living_in_latam11 күн бұрын
they are a lot more then that. Depending on the areas your looking, most likely Langosta - close to Tamarindo or Playa Grande Beachfront standalone homes are upwards 1.5+ Million and Condos in Areas like Flamingo, Potrero that are beachfront are $300k-$500k starting.
@living_in_latam11 күн бұрын
Guanacaste is rather big also. So the prices can vary quite easily. Do you have an area that you were focused on and I can help you from there?

« A black sand beach is not a beach » 🤣 not that I prefer black sand… but a sand beach is a sand beach… ;-) the pacific cost of both countries have many black sand / volcano beach on the pacific side. Check playa Blanca in Panama. As for the metro to the airport it has been open for a while already. Montreal in Quebec does not even have that! 😂 The Canal for Panama is the key $$$ and coupled to its financial/banking international services makes the large difference. You travel into Panama or just Panama City? (When you say « in Panama… » ;-) I’m a permanent resident of Panama. I would suggest to go outside San Josee and Panama City… space… the final frontier!

Jaco, Sabana, Colones,... if you are going to give advice on Costa Rican things, learn how to pronounce the names. Your credibility really comes into question.
@living_in_latam3 ай бұрын
Yes I've been to Jaco many times. Los Sueños as well. if you google map Sabana, it comes up as La Sabana. So maybe google is wrong? Colones is the currency correct. Before you accuse someone, do the homework.
