I originally am from Nepal but residing in Japan having more than 3 years japan residency visa. Now I am travelling to Panama for Medical purpose of my daughter which will take 5 days. The day I will enter the Panama my passport will have 6 month and 6 days validation before expiry but on the day I leave Panama , My passport will have 5 months and 29 days validity . Will there be any problem leaning Panama have passport validity 1 day less than 6 months? it is really urgent, if you can answer, it will be life saving.

thanks for all this. note that in your description of proof of economic solvency, it is not clear whether the $500 (or $1000) should be in CASH or not. if it is just a matter of showing a bank account statement or having a credit card on hand, please be clear on this.

Panama is a pain if you are from a country where they require a visa.. Like in the case of my wife who is from the Dominican Republic. But not for me. I have a Panamanian passport and an American passport so it is easy. I have been fighting with Panama to get residency for my wife. Not easy.

You don't need proof of onward travel.. For the past 10 years, I've been traveling all through Latin America including Panama flying in and out on multiple flights.. I have NEVER been questioned about an onward flight... Narrator is an Alarmist.

so if I drive to Panama from the upper mid-west of the United States ( I do not fly ) I can just drive into Panama and I do not need a Visa, I automatically receive 6 months, if I were to find full / part time employment besides collecting my social security checks, I wonder how many times I can continue to renew that 6 month Visa...

Immigration doesn't border you that much but the airlines do.

If you are flying out of Panama on a return flight you will be asked for proof of onward travel. Also if you are on the return part of a ticket flying into Panama you will be asked for proof of residency or proof of travel. I have been asked several times.
