CallerIQ was a service provided by openLCR. It could give you weather info, news, and even music through your phone if I'm remembering right. Basically a super early smartphone-ish thing... Do these have the Light ID function? A relative has a KX-TG5421 and you can set the color of the visual ringer for phonebook entries.

Thanks for the information, that sounds neat. Too bad it didn't catch on. I'm not sure if they do, I will be recording some more video of this in the future so I will try to remember to check then.

Our old KX-TG5432 had a ringtone downloaded via that feature, but as far as I know, we never used it. The phone was bought new when we bought it in ~2005.

@@techwithtyler20 I’ve never heard of downloading ringers into these phones.

Panasonic tends to have the least intuitive remote functionality, the voice sounds good but it gives you one function at a time and you have to cycle through until it says the one you want. It's nice that it tells you what to do and arguably this way of doing it could be easier for some people because it requires less memorization, but if you remote access enough I'd assume you would eventually get used to the button layout of all the functionalities at once, which would then allow access to what you want far faster.

You don't have to do it that way. You can also use the following commands: 1: Repeat 2: Skip 4: New messages 5: All messages 7: Record greeting (not available on all models) 9: Stop 0: Answering system off *4: Erase message *5: Erase all messages *#: Hang up (newer models only)

Also, when there was a new message, the indicator light on the base unit wasn't flashing like it should.

In the 2.4/5.8 era, there were several color options for some models. For example, the KX-TG5634 comes in white or grey.
