That's a really cool lens. 35 is awesome plus if you switch to crop then it's around a 50. But 35 is an ideal length! Nice review, thumbs up 👍👍

Thanks, Peter. I am a huge fan of 35mm for these seated talking shots especially. For small rooms, gimbal use, and everything else so far it's been my main squeeze :). hehe. Thanks mate.

Great review.. I watched your previous review of all s series lenses.. I had the 85mm and ordered the 35mm … the 24mm is the most expensive one not the 35mm.

You're right. Maybe at the time of filming the 24 was on sale! :)

THAT'S why you look so goddamn familiar 😅. Just found this channel and I've been watching your pedal reviews for years lol. These primes are fantastic tho. I can't wait to snag a few.

35 is definitely the way to go for my studio. It makes my face look less deformed and hideous. Slightly less.
@GeekyNerdyTechy2 жыл бұрын
haha! For the studio, there's not much better than a 35mm for talking head shots. :)

I have 2 s5s and love them dearly (using mostly16-35 on gimbal, 24-70 and 70-200 for time pressured corporate shoots) I still have my gh5 (i shot with them for years)which pairs up so nicely with the Sigma 16 f1.4 - which gives you the look of the the s 5 with this 35mm lens (stopped down to f2.8) I just cant make my self sell my old GH5 becasue of that foacl length look and the fact i can do it at 4k 50 with no crop (the s5's achilles heel) 35 is such a versatile focal length - wide enough to give spatial awareness (with a bit of pan) but tight enough to give seperation - i could shoot an entire event at this focal length (if i have the ability to move around)

i also bought an S5 and have a GH5 (and gh4) but i think i will keep the gh5 solely for the noctricron 42.5.

Awesome video! I love the 35

Thanks! It's my favorite for the studio. The 50mm is also pretty wild from the same series.
@AnthonySmith-gx9bs2 жыл бұрын
This might be a silly question but when you crop the 35mm to "50mm" does it take on all the other characteristics of the actual 50mm like depth of field and facial distortion or is the crop just cutting off to the same FOV and zooming in? Your side by side looked very similar but it is hard to tell on a low resolution screen like I have right now. Thanks for these videos these are very helpful.
@GeekyNerdyTechy2 жыл бұрын
It has the same depth of field as it would at 35mm but with the 1.5 crop.

When you had the 35mm on the gimbal were you fixing your focus range or using AF.

Hey TX Shaun I just bought it over 50mm...after Cashback around 510 CHF/US$

And receive it but it make a wired noise like some elements are loose inside do you have it with your lens and th eautofocus is mega lound maybe I have a deffect model. Any suggestions when I am moving the cameras it is making rattlle noise and the AF is pretty noisy
@GeekyNerdyTechy2 жыл бұрын
Hi Filip, my lens doesn't make any noise at all. None of them should at all. It sounds like it may have been damaged in shipping by the sounds of it. You might hear some motor noise if you listen carefully but otherwise I never notice it and this is my number 1 most used lens.
