I'm a little concerned about three separate control rings on the barrel. do you ever accidentally adjust another ring, like trying to focus and while doing that you mess with the iris??

One difference would be the DVI output of the UX180 which is lacking on the HC-X1.

The AG-UX180 has a longer warranty in Europe and Timecode In/Out and 3G SDI output. The HCX-1 has Composite output and RCA Phono for Audio in the same place.
