Hi , very interesting may I trouble you for service manual for these as I need to test all power supply voltages. I have worked on these for years yet during a simple “ stuck on hello “ capacitor fix. I have somehow completely stoped the machine from powering up. The board has voltages but no display I want to see if I have killed a chip somehow. Cheers. .

shame there was no Part 2... i have an ez45v but have just got it working again after replacing all the power caps, but video plays with audio and only displays a picture when fast forwarding!

I've still got a silver version of this model to fix. It's probably got the caps/power supply fault as it just goes through "please wait" ending up on either U80 or U81. Interesting to see that manual says those error codes are for Microprocessor Communication Errors.

More than likely it'll be power supply caps. The error comes from the CPU not being able to carry out a particular function due to the power supply not working as it should. It does show how error messages can be misleading and I do tend to always check power supplies first regardless of what the error message points to. Good luck and would be great to hear how you get on with repairing your unit.

Hello, check if the EC signal pin 14 change this is the signal to start the motor, the BD6904FP is the equivalent of this IC.

Thank you so much for this. My main issue is running the deck whilst gaining enough access but having thought about this after I made the video I can see a way I should be able to quite easily do this. Extremely useful having the equivalent for this IC too.
